Horizons Inter submit Inter Submit Inter Submit Inter submit.. I think I have has enough finally. :(

Do you find that to be true? I've never heard anyone say it before, and never really thought about it myself.

When I am in the bubble I tool around in my Corvette, don't need too much range and I can always slide in a fuel tank. I get almost exclusively elite Anacondas and FDL's interdictions, no problem with the Corvette, I kill a few and then I'm left alone. I have flown with tons of engineer cargo and after a few kills, no more, for varying length's of time. In fact for a while I used engineer stuff as bait, some of these Anacondas pay nearly 400k bounties, so a few of those add nicely to a day's flying.

Remember, this has been noted while mining in rings away from the RES marker. You usually get NPC's sniifing you out soon after you arrive, if you kill them then you are left alone. This has been observed and noted as regularly occurring and I have used that tactic many times with the same results.

The game does funny things at times.

I wonder if the AI considers you too dangerous or did it run out of pirates/enemies to send after you.

I don't think it's programmed to run out, I think it doesn't want to give you more CR. And really, any other players could be rated same as me, but as CMNDR A. Lamarr said, maybe people just didn't consider it.

Sniffing you out? What do they do? I have had some NPCs say "Sorry you're not who I thought you were." And I think one said "You don't have what I want"

Hi Moonax

Would you mind sharing your load-out for your T6? Ive been using:

https://coriolis.io/outfit/type_6_t...00-04040303430124.Iw1-kA==.Aw1-kA==?bn=Step 6

Perhaps i`m missing something important!?

Thx Danny

Well, checking that load-out, you only have a 3D shield, which seems it may be part of the problem. Consider a stronger or bigger shield, to give you TIME to get away. However, if you SUBMIT by throttle to zero rather than EVADE while in SC, the first thing you need to do AS YOU DROP INTO THE NORMAL SPACE INSTANCE, is push your throttle to max, and the moment you are there, BOOST, max pips to engines, and the rest to SYS, then BOOST, BOOST, BOOST, and you should be far enough away where he drops in to FSD back to SC. Sometimes he hasn't even appeared before I am jumping up to SC again. I was able to do this when I had a T6, and get to station. Keep an eye on the ships on your scanner while in SC, and try to manoeuvre so that nothing gets right behind you. I've avoided being interdicted that 2nd or third time while on my way to a station by approaching it in a huge barrel roll/loop. Not the direct approach. This can prevent them getting interdiction lock for long enough for you to get into 'DROP' range of the station. Works for me, anyway.

It is a cat-and-mouse game.

If you simply travel directly to your destination in a sequence of straight-line jumps and drops, should you be surprised that you can easily be followed or your behaviour predicted?

I have use the following evasion technique with fair success since way back when smuggling was a thing:

1) Locate the hunter.
2) Get him off my tail. I turn perpendicular to his travel direction ASAP, and preferably away from the orbital plane.
3) Slow right down.
4) Drop out of SC.
5) Boost-Boost-Boost until out of reach of the drop-in point (about 7km)
6) Change direction again.
7) Low-wake / High Wake as appropriate.

Extremely seldom do I ever see that NPC again - I imagine he drops into my low wake signature and finds nothing, and by the time he gets back to SC, I am elsewhere.

Change the recipe as you see fit, but it is not impossible.

I would love to hear if it works for anyone else, but it does for me and it makes the game more challenging and rewarding.

This is how i deal with NPC stalkers

I escape from the first Inter
Then spam the next target button till i see the NPC appear in sc
I Then kill my speed & drop out of SC
Boost in the direction im heading count 20 seconds activate FSD in low wake
The NPC will drop into normal space just as you jump back into SC

Normally you don't see them again but they do sometimes reappear when you drop out of SC

When the NPC that is after you is mission-related, it will keep reappearing until you kill it no matter what you do - if the security forces kill it, it will re-spawn and attack you. I have found that if I can make it to a NAV beacon in a medium or high security system, I drop in and make sure I am close to security forces. The NPC will come for me and security engages them as soon as it attacks me (report crimes on) then by making sure I get some hits in before the NPC dies I get the credit and that NPC is now "Norwegian Blue" (an ex-pirate). This doesn't work at stations - if the station engages the pirate, no matter how many hits I get on the NPC I don't get any credits.

When I did missions, I used to lure my pursuers into the sun when re-fuelling. Once they were dealt with the didn't bother me from then on. Although, things may have changed now.

what is strange is this.

If I interdict someone, even if they submit, I still get the Long FSD cooldown, and they get the normal cooldown (for submitting), meaning they will FSD out before me, while I am waiting for my CD, then charging ect, more then enough time for them to get away. Yet the AI doesn't seem to abide by the same rules, as there FSD is always up to jump into SC and pull me out again. That is the issue here, AI breaking game rules.

This is one of the things i hate about a lot of games.

Just lately I parked the Annie and went back to an Asp. I went for lightest FSD, rather than most powerful jump range, fitted a small shield and no guns. I was already at level 5 FSD upgrade with an engineer, and I think I also did some level 3 thruster upgrades?
She is fast, manoeuvrable, and has enough room for a mix of cabins and cargo.
I can outrun an interdiction almost every time. Most times I am spooled up ready to hit super cruise before the NPC has landed a single shot on me. In fact I am usually ready to jump just as they appear on my radar with a cheery "well, hello there" :)
Occasionally my shields get stripped, but I carry 2 chaff launchers and have yet to see the rebuy screen ;)
On top of this she is cheap to run and cheap to insure. I like her so much I just accepted a 20 million credit run half way across the galaxy with some rich tourist :)
TLDR: Asp explorer for the win!
Shame she is so ugly :(

these constant interdictions only irritate the player, nice job FD

the campaign to amaze players is a success

I had a Type 6 a week ago, for two weeks, and avoided many interdictions. I lost only twice, once because I wasn't prepared (snack in hand), and the other time I had my throttle zeroed and didn't move it up in time.

I just started using a T6 again, and had no trouble at all avoiding 3 interdictions. Not so on the 4th (NPC, solo, not playing in Mobius at the time), the inter started W/only 2 blue pips and 4 red, I fought it admirably, as my blue reduced to one, then two, then two and a half, then it unfairly just started going down and the red up despite my being able to keep the invisible reticle very near the blue circle - it was totally unfair. The blue dropped out quickly and the red filled quickly - so I cut my Internet connection quicky (yes, I "combat logged") do to the game treating me totally unfair. I had 2 tons Painite and 76 tons of mostly Platinum & Palladium, I was unarmed, and I've had my cargo many stolen several times before by HB limpets by NPC's (in some cases lost all cargo even though I kicked the pirates' asses), the same HB limpets that don't work worth a crap for players (I've read the complaints here on these forums), I wasn't about to allow it to happen again when I need the Painite for Selene Jean. IMO this combat logging was justified.

So yes, in my opinion there is something odd and unfair happening in interdictions, versus NPC's interdicting you anyway.

Nice one, i got rid of Elite today because of almost the same reason :D Even my conda couldnt survive more than around 20 sec, exploration build though.

Ok here`s the scenario.. and please before anyone tells me to get good, or learn to fight..please don`t. I like transporting and moving goods around between stars.. we all have our own play styles. I know there is inevitably risk and InterD here and there.. but what have the dev`s done? and continue to do? I am doing a simple seek and return mission for 9 atmospheric processors in my type 6 for 23k . I get interdicted 12 dam times in the same system after submitting and then charging FSD again.. 5-6 of those time he took my shields offline in seconds!! and not even a "Direct message anymore" of warning!? ...this is seriously not a enjoyable game to play anymore. I`m strongly considering binning this title now. It was once heading in the right direction.. I log on to find death lurking with every dam mission.
It was never this hard to ship simple goods!! get a grip!
Ive spent millions on extras for my type 6 to make it a bit more defended, but still all`s offline in seconds and taking damage.(excess power. yes yes I have plenty)
Feel very disconnected from a game I much loved, and all it successors since the late 80`s.
I`m starting to wonder if I am doing something very wrong for this to happen every time I try and play for a hour or two??, I looked at websites for guides on equiping for defense but im always defeated in a matter of 10-20 seconds.. If anyone can assist me with a load out to help me at least survive a IntD I would be grateful.

Danny :(

Grammar error in title :) (have had enough)

You are not alone:

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the are a few things that can be done. 1st: yes Dev's need to bring back the threats from attackers instead of just open fire. Or threats to drop cargo option. That was very nice, so if you didn't want to loose ship for cargo. 2nd: as most have said there is a slight advantage to submit "faster CD on FSD" or evade "more distance between", When running either way make sure you turn ALL power to engines and stay on boost till FSD charge, if you loose shields change to all power to engines and the rest to systems. Not sure what NPC does but if I IntD someone, NPC or Player, I go flying out of control for a bit. 3rd: Make sure you are not doing a mission that is a higher rank than you are, makes a big difference. Class C Anaconda and Ive been in less than 20 seconds by NPC's. Lastly, its a good idea to join a group like Mobius PVE or such. I mention that only cause if you need a wing man join that group and look for Cmd Demon79 "Me" and ill always help players out. But there are a lot of groups out there to join.
Hope this helps and I hope ya still love the game...:) o7 commander

I seen in patch notes that they supposedly fixed a problem with double interdiction interface (or worded differently). I'm thinking now they didn't fix it. Please submit a bug report to tell them. That said, yeah, that (single interface) has happened to me when dropping to a station too, and yeah it just disappeared and everything went to normal station area NP. GL to you.

Not fixed, I got a Triple ID 2 days ago - FDevs lie!
