Interdicted by clean npcs

I don't really mind getting interdicted as it livens up the game . But when it's a clean npc with no bounties (even after kws ) and you get beat up a little and gain only 200 credits for the kill . That doesn't even cover the amo and other supplies used let alone damage to your ship . Is this a intended thing or a problem.

I'm thinking you got picked on by a low-end bounty hunter.

Did you incur any minor infractions recently?

This happened to me about a week ago as well. There was a NPC comm message from an Anaconda about me being a 'high value target'. I took out the Anaconda and continued on my way to Jaques station. It wasn't until a day later that I looked at my transaction tab to see what I had there. There was a bounty for about 200k, and a bounty for 200cr. I remembered that I had killed a wanted FDL and the Anaconda, but couldn't figure out why I only earned 200cr for one of them.

It turns out that I had a 6 day bounty that was a couple days from expiring for killing a ship in what I mistakenly thought was an Anarchy system, and the Anaconda must have been an NPC bounty hunter. I had never seen this happen before, so I wonder if it was added with one of the recent patches. I think it's an awesome addition and a step towards a real crime and punishment system.

Who interdicted you, and where? Authority ships might interdict you in a warzone. Powerplay NPCs might interdict you anywhere. Bounty-hunters might interdict you if you're a murderer. Authority ships can shoot at you without penalty (you never get a Bounty voucher for blowing one up) but won't shoot at you unless they detect you engaging in criminal activity. Powerplay NPCs and bounty-hunters commit a crime by shooting at you (the 200 cr bounty) if you aren't Wanted and you have Report Crimes Against Me turned on; this will likely be their only crime you can claim you can claim a bounty for, although KWSing them might reveal some generic bounties.

I have no bounties and they are npc ships not an authority they say things like" drop your cargo and live". they turn wanted as soon as they shoot me . It's not a big deal it just seems odd .

Not every pirate is wanted in every system...

Ensure that "report crimes against me" is switched on too, or their wanted status will not change.

Had a couple of clean NPC's attack me last night one in a Gunship the other a Viper MKIII. To be honest doesn't bother me really! Just gives the game variation because at the end of the day clean players attack clean and wanted players so why shouldn't NPC's break the law. No issue with it at all you can always run away!

I had report crimes on so both times 2 system police came to give me a hand.

As early as Wings shooting NPC's just became target practice now the AI is much better and unpredictable and the police do stuff it's a lot more fun. You need NPC's with variation otherwise they just become credit grinds that spawn and die. I love the fact they follow you to stations and they are prepared to ram you.

Well I was in a system bounty hunting trying to get alliance bounty for the blaster. I see a bounty on a cobra I interdict it no problem here. kill warrant scan complete for extra. Hardpoints out 700 cr bounty gained assault of blah blah I'm in my battle conda by the way those shields were down and hull torn through in 2 seconds. He pops into a firework I get a 5k bounty for the murder of blah blah but also get a 33k bounty to hand in. For the same faction. Am I missing something?

I had the same yesterday. I only had a couple of tons of engineers cargo, when a Cobra turned up just after I took off from a planet. It gave out a message about tasty cargo. Normally, only Elite Anacondas and FDLs come after me in my A-rated Corvette, so I stopped to see what would happen. I scanned him and he was clean. Sure enough, he opened fire, so I obliterated him in a few seconds.

Also, later on, I got interdicted by a clean FDL, who didn't open fire at first, so I just faced him for a few seconds, then he opened fire, so he got the same treatment.

A bounty that pops up on the KWS does not necessarily mean the npc (or player) that you have scanned is wanted in the system. Just that he is wanted somewhere, that status is per system.

This means that if you kill an npc that is wanted anywhere else but the system you are in it's still murder, locally at least.

I don't get very many of these or very often. I chalk them up as inexperienced bounty hunters (aka Competition) who've made their last mistake, or aspiring pirates who didn't get the memo that reads: "Don't screw with this guy, he doesn't drop cargo, just enough mines to kill a battle cruiser."
