Interdiction mechanics

hi there,
inspired by a reddit discusion and thought of this concept bothering me for a time now, i like to write a suggestion about interdictions mechanics ingame:

Right now the situation about interdiction is like following:

the interdictor got allways a supiriour power over the to be interdicted target. there are no resistants by mechanic (FSD engineering could provide one since there are just 3 kinds of modding out yet for fsd. but thats a diffrent topic). the only way to get out of interdiction and being dropped out of supercruise is the 'escape vector allingment'-minigame.
so far worked for all time yet in elite:dangerous.

so my thoughts about that concept is:
having a ship of certain size in supercruise requires a certain size of fsd field. but to interdict it does not require a specific power amount of the fsd interdictor. of course there are sizes and classes but right now just a 0.5t (1D) bucket of bolts can interdict an enourmus frame shift field of a 80t (7A) with no problem.
the internal fsd interdictor should have an equal size requirement to the targets fsd drive to interrupt it properly. in my example of an 1D fsd interdictor the interdictor should have serious trouble while interdicting a 7A fsd drive. the better the size of the fsd interdictor equal to the targets fsd drive should ease this mentioned difficulty to interrupt successful. on the other hand a bigger fsd interdictor size then the targets fsd drive could provide a more easy interdiction.

thoughts came from the point of physics view and the reason that there are diffrent fsd interdictor sizes. if sizes don't matter in concept of my concept suggested above the fsd interdictor could be a tool just with diffrent classes in no matter of size.

While I agree that the size should matter, I can immediately see that it will make it difficult for players who fly fighters to obtain those materials from trade ships as they would not be able to interdict them.

Being a trader though, I would have a much more peaceful time of it. Since the buffs to mines though, interdictions are no longer of a concern to me as a trader. I still usually run, but I am able to destroy or at least heavily delay just about anything long enough to escape.
