Interdictions

So here I am 2 weeks into the game. In a fully decked out Cobra MKIII. There are times that I get an interdiction and can get out of it and there are times like today where as soon as it says interdiction, I am pulled from hyperspace and my shields gone and my armor is badly damaged.

1) is there any way to stop those auto-interdictions?

and

2) how can I survive long enough to put up a fight after I have been interdicted?

Thank you.

No way to totally prevent them. They seem to be triggered by valuable cargo, stacking missions, stuff like that. Sometimes they're scripted into a mission you accepted.

When I fail to chase the escape vector well enough, I avoid them by pointing the ship away from whatever pulls me out of warp and then BOOST until I can FSD.

If you feel you arent going to win this interdiction, submit immediately so that your FSD can charge up immediately after jumping out of supercruise. I'm sure you've thought of that already, but sometimes in the heat of the moment it can be forgotten. And of course boost away as fast as you can.

A high wake jump (to another system) is not mass locked, which can be helpful at times.

Depending on the condition of your ship, and what you are up against (pressing the default key H should reveal what ship is challenging you), you can choose to fight it if you wish, of course.

As soon as you get the interdiction attempt immediately throttle to the middle of your blue zone and just keep the nose of your ship pointing at the blue escape vector reticule. It's faster to pitch and roll instead trying to use yaw. The blue arc on the left is you, the red arc on the right is the bastage trying to stop you. If you see yourself losing the mini-game throttle down to zero to submit and immediately throttle up, pips to engines and boost. If you submit your FSD only takes 15 seconds to cool down where the bastage that stopped you I believe has a 45 second cool down period so you are at an immediate advantage. Boost to try and stay out of weapons range and fire up the FSD to wake out. I usually low wake first then select a system to high wake to. You can be two star systems away before the bastage can use his or her FSD. If I'm close enough to my destination I'll just low wake back to super cruise and go there instead. Once your mission is completed they won't bother you again. That's how I do it and it works 99% of the time. The other 1% we won't talk about here.

This ^.

On fact in my bigger ships like type 10 I don't even bother trying to win the interdiction because the type 10 maneuvers like a sloth on Valium in supercruise. Take a few seconds in the interdiction to select a star system to jump to, submit.. Drop chaff, heat sinks, squirrels, whatever, Boost AT them so they have to turn around when you go past and high wake out. That's assuming I can't take them on.. If they're not 2 elite anacondas or more they're not leaving the interdiction in one piece.

Is this NPCs interdicting you, or other players?

When you get interdicted, hit highest threat so you know what snagged you. If it's bigger than you, do long spirals as much as you can. If you're bigger, gently rock left and right.
