Thank you. I would not know how interdictions supposed to work after 800h in the game. Appreciate your comment... What I said it is unusually plenty of those around every corner of the galaxy, this wasn't happening so often... And funny enough, I am getting interdicted even w/o mission nor cargo, so there is that...Interdictions are random. However, any missions you take will increase the likelihood of getting interdicted, and many missions come with the possibility of multiple interdictions, for example, an Elite ranked mission that ends up with an incoming enemy alert will be as many as four different 'pirates' after you.
In other words, FD didn't do anything, but what you have chosen to do in the game has increased the amounts of interdictions you are getting.![]()

I'm not having an interdiction since ages, not even now that I am nearly 20k ly from the BubbleIs it only me or FDev went bit overboard with interdictions recently?? I am getting interdicted at every jump, this is very annoying...
I think something changed at one point though. You now get the silly "That's the ship I'm looking for with the large haul" kind of messages even though you don't have any. They do that with my combat ships, which is fine for me 'cause it's usually the pirates I'm after anyway. The NPCs used to know in supercruise if you had cargo or not, I guess now they just make assumptions. My suspicion is FDev may have removed the way they used to know but forgot to alter the text messages accordingly. No problem... You will still get interdicted with no missions and no cargo, as I said, random interdictions are random. May even be system authority under some circumstances, for example if the system is in a state of war or civil war.
But honestly, I am pretty sure that FD don't have a dial that they use to alter the amount of interdictions that players get. They have (in the past) played around with how easy or difficult interdictions are to win or evade, but other than that they are either entirely random, or triggered based upon what a player is doing.![]()
That would confirm what I see. FDev tweaked something and interdiction are now way more frequent... I rarely read what NPC's say as this is always less than sad but yeah, they all say the same...I think something changed at one point though. TBH no idea, I am always escaping interdiction and simply ignore those. Never really bothered to check who is trying to interdict me... It is just amount of those in nearly every system I jump to, it is simply annoying and it does not add any value to the game...Any particular type of interdiction? Military ones are state / system based and tend to be quite common (in those states / systems)

The comms from the interdictor is a clue to their origins.TBH no idea, I am always escaping interdiction and simply ignore those. Never really bothered to check who is trying to interdict me... Yes and no. Recently more often than not I get no comms. Interdiction just starts and that's it. This is also happening in systems w/o any populations/stations etc... What I also noticed, NPCs try to interdict me when I make two-three jumps to the destination in empty systems. This wasn't happening to me in the past... Very recent development...The comms from the interdictor is a clue to their origins.
Well don't know about those but in the past interdictions were happening in the populated systems. Now I get those in the middle of nowhere..Does a system with carriers have increased probability of random interdictions?
Thankfully I'm not the only one who feels this, I'm a new CMDR and it's already destroying the game play, got the game because I seen my friends play it and in less than a week I have lost my ship easily a dozen times, doesn't help I'm new to flying and can't do combat yet but to be NPC interdicted either with 10 simple data transfer missions or no missions etc at all is just p**sing me off! Especially when doing something as simple as system hopping!!Is it only me or FDev went bit overboard with interdictions recently?? I am getting interdicted at every jump, this is very annoying...
Does it matter which ship you're in? I've never seen this kind of attention myself, but switching ships is a good troubleshooting step.Well don't know about those but in the past interdictions were happening in the populated systems. Now I get those in the middle of nowhere..
That seem to be a problem. I've spoken with few people I know playing ED and they said the same. There is way more interdiction since FDev made tweaks in their last balancing roll. Looks like they have broken something again... But hey, most of players here will tell you that you imagining things...Thankfully I'm not the only one who feels this, I'm a new CMDR and it's already destroying the game play, got the game because I seen my friends play it and in less than a week I have lost my ship easily a dozen times, doesn't help I'm new to flying and can't do combat yet but to be NPC interdicted either with 10 simple data transfer missions or no missions etc at all is just p**sing me off! I would have thought NPC interdictions would be far more random and fewer but it's constant even with no missions, cargo or cartographic data... I'm not even a pirate or aligned with a power play character!!
I use three ships. Cobra that is capable of escaping any attempt, Python that is fully engineered trader - also easy to fly and escape and Krait Phantom. This one is only partially engineered explorer. I am working on Chieftain now so not much flying yet in this one. HOWEVER, in all three ships I am getting the same unwanted attention from NPCs... So does not seem to be ship related...Does it matter which ship you're in? I've never seen this kind of attention myself, but switching ships is a good troubleshooting step.
