Newcomer / Intro Interdictors

The big unfair advantage i have noticed is that interdictors have the upper hand when coming out of fsd... they are up behind and unless you can turn like a housefly then its a no contest.... its a flaw in the game for sure...

It depends. I usually end up behind the target, but sometimes, it'll put me in a spin as I fall into normal space. Sometimes, it doesn't.

The question on interdiction is whether you are submitting to it, or fighting it and lose. When interdicted, I'll set speed to zero, drop out, and my FSD cooldown is pretty quick. If I fight it and lose, then I'm out of fleeing commission for a bit.

How are you addressing the interdictions? If you're basically unarmed and hauling cargo, do the immediate submit, throw three pips to system, three pips to engines and don't play the "what does this guy want?" game. Boost, use flight assist off to keep more momentum, boost again, fire FSD, boost again, jump. Even if the pirate, pvp, NPC starts firing, you can have some range, and get back into SC quickly.

An interdiction cannot be initiated until they get behind you in super cruise.
In Super cruise I watch the radar like a hawk and turn sharply if I see someone behind me, if you do get pulled into an interdiction you can throttle down to zero and submit, this allows your drives to charge up faster.
In the upcoming 1.1 update, interdicting anyone without a bounty on them will issue an immediate fine. :)

They are probably behind you because that's where they were to pull you out of SC.

You have two choices depending on your situation and who you are facing:

put 4 pips to engines (2 to shields) a run. Boost out of there. Charge FSD when far enough away and jump in SC.

or

put 4 pips to weapons, deploy hardpoints, stick throttle in blue sweet spot and turn...

I went through a phase of getting interdicted and failing on purpose because it was an easy way to get bounties, but now I always with the mini game without even trying! If you just leave it it says evaded! Why?

Interesting. Unless they say wanted, there really isn't a way to determine if they have a bounty on them somewhere prior to firing the teather. Not that I do any pirating, but it sounds like a "sin tax" added to the bounty they'll get if they open up on their targets. A fine (and wanted status) for firing the interdiction, and another one for hostilities. Hoping that is in empire/federation space, and not including Anarchy systems, as everyone shows up as clean there.

Guess they all want us in haulers, trucking biowaste from system to system. :)
