Interesting numbers about ED trailer

I have followed dynamic of community since release of in-game video trailer. Some numbers to chew on:
* 21k pounds additional pledges in four days
* about 1.2k new backers (welcome!)
* 2200 views of Elite Dangerous Wikia (were FAQ also reside) in four days (usually 200 - 400 in week). You are more than welcome follow and update Wikia and FAQ, as it seems to be only structured info repository for ED atm.
* Trailer viewed 114 731 times (not included repeated views)

Interestingly trailer is viewed three times less than some of KS videos (about 300k), so there's still some potential there.

some interesting stats there i know i was one of the repeat watchers and am now at Alpha level ;). But we were crying out for something like this for ages because we believed in frontier and we knew the kind of game they were creating but in order to show the wider world this is what we needed. and just the stats alone show that to be the case. I know i've shown it to a few people I know and made them interested in the game. :)

It's the new backers numbers rising that I'm most pleased with. It would be cool to find out the new forum members count too. We seem to have a quite a few new faces popping in since the video, which always brings a bit of fresh air into the forums.

Don't forget that YouTube's published stats tend to lag behind the real stats so the true figure is almost certainly higher than the current (as of this morning) 115k views...

Some encouraging stats following on from the video release though....

We had roughly 130 new people register to the forums over the weekend. :)

Wow, that was quick... Cheers Ashley. That's a much higher number than I was expecting. You guys must be chuffed that it's gone over so well.

Also, let the lighting guys know that I was impressed by their lasers. I recall Ben Parry saying in his interview about them radiating light along their length, and I get what that means now. There's a really cool moment where a laser shoots past the Sidewinder and briefly lights the cockpit red. Totally unscientific, but necessary for the awesome.

So... we need more cinematic videos then... get to work Ash!

Alas, I do not possess the requisite skills to make such a video! It was edited by one of our talented GFX artists, James Avery, who will be the subject of an interview at some point so you'll be able to ask him some questions about it.

I can't imagine the community will have any questions about it. Can you?

Yeah I thought I noticed the numbers go up which is a great sign. I notice on the Frontier Development youtube page the default video is the Scavenger Hunt.

Might be an idea to change it to the Captial Ship video ;)

I am one of those new backers after seeing the epic trailer......straight from SC (original backer) and also look forward to this game. I do not know which one I will prefer in the end, we will see, but both games look awesome at this point in their development!

Browsing the forum now to learn as much as possible from you guys about the game!

Look, lets not make a big deal of it..... so I had a spare 20k knocking about.... hey, what can I say... I'm a nice guy. :D

There is no secret. People want to see the content, and when the content is great, people give more easily. I imagine, when the international advertising campaign will begin
