I have always wondered how the repair costs are worked out and so set about a little testing as I remember getting a 57k cost on my Asp during a rare run.
Throughout my run, my repair costs were 99 - 100 % running a a couple of 1000 credits and that was with over 180 ly jumping and SC flying under 400ls to stations. That is to say for the entire 170ly run and trips to stations, the total cost for repairs was under 3k.
Then I did a 15 minute trip in SC to a station that was 1,000,000 ls from the jump star. I full SC'd there at over 1200c at the max and when I arrived at the station, I did the normal check to repair and to my amazement it was 56,000 repair costs.
So that 15 minutes of supercruise on my Asp cost me 56,000 credits.......


and took the hull from 100 % to 89%... 




. That is the hull in the repair screen and not the actual hull shown on the main consoles.
Wow, I knew the repair costs on the Asp were high, but that was an impressive cost for a 15 minutes SC compared to 3000 credits for 170+ly jumping and cruising.
Be warned, I am now going to change my route and any trips over 10,000ls SC are not going to be done.
Also raises another potential problem if you are doing deep exploration with no stations. All of that SC repair costs could clear out profits you make from exploration and the Asp is suppose to the be best exploration ship.
I am unsure whether this is a design flaw or how FD intended it to be, but be warned, do not do massive SC journeys in an Asp.
BTW : My Asp is fully kitted out with A class kit / shields etc, but standard armour.
