Interesting stat/data

Hi all

This popped up on my Newstand feed earlier - seems VR cockpit games are not as niche as maybe they were:

It's growing.

I actually tried it in Vr but it's unplayable for me. Used the rift S and when moving around, everything outside of the cockpit is blurry like it's running 60 fps or lower. I tried all the options, even the lowest, didn't make a difference.
I was thinking my 2080 would be alright for it but I went for the refund.

It’s a known bug - VR & high refresh monitors are getting locked at 60fps. Seems like the devs concentrated on PSVR (60fps reprojected up to 120fps) and somehow whoopsied on PCVR.

There’s also an issue with motion blur being on in VR which is ghosting moving objects and generally unpleasant to look at.

The Devs have said they are aware of the issues, so hopefully a fix will be coming in the next patch.

yeah, the whole game is unfortunately built for consoles, with PCs as an afterthought, and you can see it, starting with the controls, continuing with the graphics and VR and ending with the dumbed down simplified balancing of the ships.

I do play it from time to time, and have fun doing so, but I prefer Elite for many reasons.

Still, it is a Star Wars space game, and it was long overdue. I hope its success leads to more games in the future, even though I don't expect a return to the old style of games.
