Interesting thing noticed near the NGC 3199 nebula

Just left that area heading home when I stopped at a system and saw Lagrange clouds there. Decided to take a look. Two of them had the usual red or green clouds and crystals (I call them "jacks" because that's what they look like). Also encountered a Liuidum Bullet Mollusk. Never seen one before but I decided to get closer to take a screen shot. It decided to bump into me and with shields off, I took 2% damage to the hull. Ok, backed up a bit. It's still bouncing here and there but here's the funny part. I turned my searchlights on.

And it just stood there, staring back at my like a deer in the headlights. Took a few screen shots.

It stares at me.........

Now, I've never see that sort of thing before. Found it funny that it just stares at my headlights. Tried on/off a few times and it always reacts to them by staring back when they're on.

Obviously you can't shoot it for "stuff" (like anything else in these clouds). Anything you can do with them besides just adding the thing to the Codex?

Oh, one more thing: Everything in these clouds are static. No old ones, no baby ones, no one just hatched, no mommy / daddy things (and this one was in a "no actual cloud located here" zone. Was wondering (here's my "Science" mind going) if these things have eggs, actual start and endings to their "lives", what do the crystals live on and how did they get in these clouds in the first place?

I think I'm overthinking this, aren't I? :)

If you mean did I "honk" again, yes. No effect. Also used the composition scanner in both conditions (lights-on condition helped keep the thing still), no noticeable effect / change.

If I had research limpets but those aren't usually carried on exploration missions. They don't seem to work on anything in these Lagrange clouds - always came up "no valid target". Can't shoot it for "stuff" (as far as I know) and you can't scoop it up and keep it as a pet.

The research limpets only work on the creatures that are roughly ship-sized. They do nothing for the smaller canister-sized ones, or any of the huge stuff, like the crystals. But all they do is take a small sample that isn't worth much to sell.

Well you never know what you might find. I have two pulse lasers, a wake and xeno scanner. It's nice to have all the bases covered for whatever you may come across.
