Interesting things I found in my exploration trip

I want to share a few interesting stuff I found. Mostly because they tell a story.

The first one is a strange planet I found with 2 big distinctive biomes. One is a sand desert biomes, with many small crater impact. The other is what seems to be dried seabed or old lakes, and no crater impact. Due to the thin atmosphere, it is likely all the water evaporated long ago. But it was interesting in itself, because it indicate the planet was first impacted by various space rocks, then developed an atmosphere and water. But eventually, said atmosphere left. Perhaps it was a fate similar to Mars.
What is also interesting, is one of the 2 lifeform of the planet, a bacterium, ONLY grow in those old seabeds. Did they exist in the water, but had to evolve to survive outside of them ? Did they came later and use the now underground water to survive ?

I think those are old seabed due to the shape of the biomes, usually in some low altitude plateau, surrounded by hills and mountains. Also the ground itself have dessication mark, like clay.

Unfortunately, the transition between the 2 biomes is kinda buggy :( I think there was an issue with the seabed LOD so I had a really low quality texture for it.
Bottom is the "desert" biome, upper one is the "old seabed".

Another world, another discovery.
I found what look like symbiosis or some form of parasitic growth. The planet is host to several plants, but while the native Aloe can thrive in many places, the stratum is found in lower altitude area. However, the stratum is ALWAYS found where Aloe is. Indicating that, while the Aloe doesn't seems to need the stratum, the opposite isn't true.

The next one is more common, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. As most people know, the Conchas likes to grow where it's deep. But I found a planet with really deep trenches, and the native Concha loved them. Places where the sun never shine. I can see the pun and all, but I swear it was not intended^^

Those are conchas above the deepest trenches. Behind my character there are multiple deep canyons, where I don't think the sun can reach the bottom of it, at least not for long.

The last one is older. I found it early in my pose Odyssey travels, after the first Odyssey patch to address various planet generation related issues. I wish I had knew how rare it would be for me, and made more screenshot and all. As it happens, I would only find such phenomena once, and I didn't bookmark the place.
It was an ice planet, with a massive crater impact. It seems when it impacted, some rocks or high temperature material was ejected (as it's common with such impact) and made deep crevasse into the ice, around the crater. It was really awesome to see. It was incredibly massive, and from the ground, didn't look like much.
This is from low orbit (at the "pole") :

As I got closer, intrigued, I noticed the pattern. It is worth noticing the difference in color and appearance of the ice inside the "valley". Which probably indicate strong temperature, and possibly melted ice that reformed later.

And so I came closer :

Unfortunately, as I said, it is so massive, from the ground it's hard to tell anything, and just look like some good old crater :

And there it is ! I hope you liked those as I did when I found them^^
