Interior Lights on/off and panel color matte/gloss

Positive note: I LOVE the new exploration system and codex. In my opinion, Fdev knocked it out of the park.

To the point: I bought the Phantom as an upgrade from my AspX. I wanted more optional internal capacity w/o sacrificing jump range as on the MkII. (not a fan of 'Conda SC handling) I LOVE almost every part of this ship. External styling is exactly to my taste, speed/handling is great, SC handling is well balanced for the size and viewing angles are great. After I kitted it out and engineered everything, I enjoyed it even more and am feeling like I may finally be able to let go of the AspX if not for this: That red interior and red LED's. The new lighting system is great but with red LED's in my face and glossy red paneling, internal screen shots are hideous and the beautiful lighting from outside is muddied. To the point I'm seriously considering going to the MkII or just back to my AspX. I dislike all the red that much. I understand this is my choice so I'm not crying about it, but I think some internal customization love would go a LONG way.

So I'd like to submit this for review:

Internal lights on/off. All internal lighting (save for maybe floor flood lights like on an airplane if you must) is able to be toggled on/off just like external lights.

Interior paneling - I understand this is VERY petty and I feel a bit silly, but even just a matte vs glossy option would make a difference. Or charge me $6 to change all the glossy red to a matte grey or black. I'd happily pay for interior paint jobs as I would exterior.

seconded. Well put. Noone in their right mind would put lights shining into the pilots' face on canopy bow structures. It's just insane.

I would pay for interior color. Similar concept to ship color where you get a couple options.

I wouldn't even be mad if it leaked out that FDEV was preparing to release this option and painted the interior glossy red knowing a lot of phantom owners would pay to get rid of it. I'm sure that sounds ridiculous but I just don't understand that design choice. Again it's all personal preference but I would assume they'd want to go fairly neutral so it would appeal to a wider group of people. I wish I had seen the interior before buying a paint pack cuz honestly I may not ever fly it now. I dislike the interior THAT much. So any future sales they would have made from my on exterior paint packs are lost due their bold choice on the interior. I'm sure the opposite could be said as well but I think that proves the point. Keep it neutral, no one cares and flies it anyways. Go bold and some people will not want to fly it therefore not buy any paint packs/ship kits for it. Just my $0.02 but I do hope Fdev gives us some internal customization options at some point. I'm betting they'd make a LOT of money.

+1 to lighting ideas and custom interiors (which FD mentioned in the ancient past).

Matters not the ship stuff the OP wrote, this should go for all ships.

Don't blind the pilot!

People have been complaining about the lighting for at least a year now. I'm not sure why they haven't done anything about it.

And cockpit interior customization seems to be a no brainer, imo. Seems like a lot of money on the table that Frontier isn't jumping on. I personally am not that interested in bobbleheads, they seem more like clutter than personalization, but I spend enough time in my ships that I'd like to make them feel more like my own.
