Intermittent low power

Hi,

not sure if this is a bug, or a very annoying game mechanic I'm unaware of.

All of a sudden, my chaff launcher has turned to a status 'low power'. It's never said that before, and my load out hasn't changed. My ship is fully repaired, no system damage.

confused, I shut down my kws, my output on the reactor was pegged at 96%, and after a few mins the chaff came back online, when I brought up the kws again, it stayed online until I docked, now it's started again.

really annoying as I should have the output spare to run it.

any ideas?

Chaff will display 'low power' if you do not have enough juice in the SYS reservoir. Divert power to SYS to top it up. Your issue has nothing to do with the ships main power output

Thank you triple seven.

If that the case, its bizarre I've never seen that before, but you stopped me going insane with power settings.

Thanks.

Yes, its strange that chaff runs off systems & not weapons, when its really a fired device, but that's the reason for low power. Note that if you have 2 chaff fitted, and disable one, it will fire the first then 'stick' on the disabled one - something I discovered to my cost.

I think the logic is that 'WEP' is actually just powering the cooling system, 'SYS' is actually providing power to those systems, primarily shields
