Interstellar Bounty Office

We are now in the year 2015 and we can send money all around the world, no problem. It just costs a bit. So just let us claim bounties from everywhere, but the reward gets a hit based on the current distance to the system the bounty belongs to. Maybe decrease it again if the player is in the space of a different major faction(taxes etc.). That would be realistic and still balanced enough imho.

<snip> you get the bounty in the same system that you got the kill. <snip>

we forget to cash in "passing through" bounties.

Or you're in a larger ship, and the system only has outposts, meaning you need to land elsewhere, and swap to a small ship just to claim a bounty

This is the main reason I don't engage in battle unless I am at my "destination" system.

I always submit to interdiction as it is just easier to me. But if I am in the middle of a string of jumps and someone interdicts while I am charging my FSD I will submit as normal but just boost away and return to my trip without engaging the hostile. This saves me from having to either interrupt my trip to collect the bounty, return to the system later to collect or end up with the uncollected bounty list from hell.

If I am in my destination system though, it's game on!
I do that same. Claiming small bounties in backwater systems is simply a pain. Either provide a brokerage system or provide the ability to delete them.

Seen some pretty nifty changes in 1.5 (love the filters for example!) but not one I'm sure quite a folk would agree is needed. Claim bounties from everywhere, anywhere. At a price of course.

My transactions tab scares me. Almost 4 pages of unclaimed bounties from all over the bloody place, each for almost laughable ~10K. And I don't even use a KWS (for the same reason!), I just happen to travel a lot for juicy mission payouts. I'd pay half of it to the local gov't in a heartbeat. It's so bad I'm considering a Sidewinder Suicide (TM)!

Pretty please?

That's the problem with these bureaucratic backwater types. They don't actually WANT to pay you for your work, which is why they insist that you collect your bounty in person. After filling out forms BHP-038a, iTY-004j, and YNP-1187t. In triplicate. And heaven forbid if you don't fill in all the lines, or you'll have to fill out another FIVE forms, in triplicate, explaining why you didn't fill out THOSE forms correctly.

One could argue that this is a balancing factor between ship sizes and jump ranges.

One could also argue that travelling the galaxy is beautiful.

But one also could simply agree that the transactions window got basically everything wrong. Be it bounties or missions. A deeper clean-up on it, rearranging bounty payout locations and organising mechanics, would be a very welcome move indeed.

I actually don't mind the current system regarding extra bounties. You don't want them? don't scan them.

I'd still like to see a bounty board for players though. it'd be difficult with how instancing works but if they could work where you accept it like a mission it could lock you into the same instance on your next FSD jump until you bag the target, abandon the hunt, or their bounty expires.

This doesn't sound half bad, good one!

I assume you mean the kws bounties, because you have to basic scan to avoid getting a bounty yourself.

Kws bounties are only ever federation, empire or alliance. They're not a problem, they're easy to stack up and hand in.

We're talking about local bounties. Most of which aren't clear where they're from. And even the ones that are, it's easy to forget to hand them in as you pass through (or you may not be able to, if on a mission timer, or you simply may not wish to right at that moment).

They are avoidable, yes. By never fighting anything unless you're already planning to dock in that system later on. But wouldn't you agree it would be better if there was an easier way to a) find the location quickly and easily and/or b) just pay them all at once at a loss of credits (which is, after all, how many players measure their time).

I'd be fine if FD felt a broker wasn't suitable and felt it's important that we travel to hand in. But then it's still important that we can actually find these places after the fact and, if we deem the smaller ones not worth the trip, I think we should be able to delete them without self destruction.

Basically stations could have a Black market in unwanted bounties, or include it in the existing black markets with a discounted price you get to sell them.
