Intersteller galatic radio

Hello CMDR's

While I was playing last night, I had my phone playing music from YouTube. It was the only thing I could do to fill the emptiness that is supercruise. While the score for Elite Dangerous is good in some parts, it’s still just to few to make a large impact on the emerision traveling the stars IMO.
For anyone curious what type of music I listen to while cruising, type Elite Dangerous Music in YouTube and it’ll be the first thing that pops up. I feel that, that type of music is pretty fitting for the everyday romp through the stars. The idea, as I’m sure so many of us had thought before, we need a “intersteller galatic radio” filling our cockpit with Elites finest instrumental music, or news. I like how and when music starts playing while I’m playing, but sometimes I would like to control what’s playing and when for a more customizable options.

*Refernce, I’m not sure if everyone has played Fallout 4, but the character you play has a fancy TV attached to his wrist, from where you can control certain aspects of the game, One of those quality of life changes you can make is a radio that plays 50’s style music. It plays on a loop, but because there is enough music and different channels (including a dude , that seems to just be talking) to choice from, you really don’t notice the loop. I figured this would be simple to add to help control the boredom for those 10,000-90,000 ly cruises with in the star systems, but in Elites style of music, or maybe even 50’s style music, whatever.

*Implementation/Features, I would think the only place really to put this new feature that makes sense would be on he System Panel->Function, next to the panel brightness option, and by simply Pressing A or X button multiple times can flip through the channels. (PC gamers will have to tell us how to implement it on that platform)
The other feature that would be nice is news radio, informing the CMDR's of the Galatic News by reading it through the radio, or maybe any encounters of players and thyroid activity that may have taken place over the previous weeks. I’m not familiar with current technology, or how much space it would eat upon the hard drive, but I know there is something out there that could translate text into speech using a generic voice.
*Note I wrote this hastily on the plane so forgive the poor grammar and punctuation. I hope to hear from this awesome community
*Also, when entering and exiting stations or hearing chatter, the radio would cut out when announcements are being made.

The radio is a good idea, but practically its not.

I mean the thought of someone playing drivel like Justin Beiber songs in the 34th century is well... its a thought that would want many to bring on the enevitable heat death the universe will treat us all too when it dies, a whole lot closer.

There are several in-character radio stations on https://inara.cz/ which play music, have GTA style adverts and report the news. Just open the page up, select a radio station and play it in the background while playing Elite. I recommend Radio Sidewinder. Although I don't know if that would work on a console.

Try Lave or Hutton. Both stream through a browser, tune in, most apps, and apparently in 2.4, straight into the game.

Sorry, I meant Hutton Orbital Radio not Radio Sidewinder. Hutton Orbital plays a mixture of rock, musical numbers, pop, anything you can think of. Radio Sidewinder plays weird but strangely entertaining electronic stuff which you can imagine people listening to in the 34th century.

lol[haha]. no I'm NOT saying modern day music. If Justin Beiber started playing while I was in combat, I would probably stick freshly sharpened pencils in my ears. I'm not saying streaming Pandora, or iHeartRadio into the cockpit it would be music that Frontier would make, just more of a variety, in a 34th century style, with the added benefit of control it. It would take over the music that's already there in the background.
Its not changing the mechanics of the game, so I wouldn't think it would effect every gamer.
