Interview with David Braben by DJTruthsayer

ok... my second day on the forum, sorry for have express my PERSONAL thought and feeling... I not understand how can be related my little PERSONAL critic with what you said in your posts... but ok... I feel sorry for stimulating an exaggerated reaction.

This is a forum with so many people and just as much opinions.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and most of us respect that and agree to disagree.
Nothing personal.
In the end we all enjoy the same game and share the same passion.

Your opinion is as good as mine ;)

So we haven't seen the Thargoids yet just their ships? Well that's interesting,

I did raise this question a while ago and to summarise it was this:

"Are the Throid ships just vessels for the aliens within just as we are for the ships we're in?"

It's looking possible as when you look at a Throid full on - (I kind of get the impression of Indepence Day where the sheilds are let down and Jeff Goldbum(E&OE) and Will Smith look at an alien docking station alien.) there's a canopy there and maybe they're looking at us as much as we're looking at them but they've got tinted windows so we cant see them?

Just a thought.

V2k.

But you're right.

The game is barebones, we dont even have game mechanics. David Braben says he loves exploration, when the process its based on holding 1 button. 3 years since the game was released and it plays EXACTLY the same as in beta 2014.

Luckily ED will improve in the next 6 months with the overhaul of some of the game mehcanics. And I hope 2018 is a new start of the game and FD keep improving the core game activities each expansion (2019 and beyond).

Its time for FD to talk serious about gaming and less about incomplete simplistic features.

You could meet a Goid walking down the street, you wouldn't really want to, but you could.

If I remember correctly, I think our environment is somewhat toxic and/or too hot for them.

I won't put a spoiler here for what they're supposedly supposed to look like.

OK, yes I will, just don't click on it, if you don't want to...

To me they look like a cross between large prawns and black ants.

Agree, unaided it would be (or should be ? tough little blighters by old accounts ;) ), thinking more of their size (not the first time I've seen their ships being confused for them)

Cool, hadn't seen that pic before, and not a million miles away really from the sort of things I always had pictured in my mind from say dark wheel (although strictly not thargoid).

Huh? Whatever! If we haven't seen the Thargoids yet just their ships is it/ could it be these are not Thargoids at the moment but simply their technology being used? Well I guess that's for a different thread.
Always good to see DB enthusiasm for this game.

remember for the fist few months after release All ships had empty cockpits. We'll see the Thargs in their ships (steeds might be a better word) in an iteration or three.

As much as you are entitled to your personal opinion, they are entitled to disagree with it. That's how it works. Personally I kind of agree with you, because without David's enthusiasm we would also have less people complaining about the current lack of space legs, atmos, etc. But maybe he wouldn't be a good CEO without his enthusiasm, or he would've tried to generate a cash cow rather than trying to create the game of his dreams.
