Introducing new people to ED

I am a bus driver, and for my sins I also attempt to look after the computers in our canteen.

Been having on and off issues with our broadband provider for some time now, when I was on the phone to them today, the guy I was talking to asked me why I didn't get myself a job in I.T. as I was saying all the right things.

I told him I was qualified in I.T., and then said that I build PC's in my spare time and help out the guys at work - and followed all that with the line "And I am Alpha Testing (I know we are past that now) Elite Dangerous". And I got a surprising reply - "Is that the new Elite?"

So I took some comfort in, for the first time, speaking to someone who knew Elite!

I then explained about ED, and was asked whether it was any good, and if he played it would it spoil his child-hood memories. I told him the best thing he could do was go on Youtube as we were not under any NDA.

Anyway, as he was doing line checks and other stuff related to my tech support call, he told me he was also on Youtube - asked me about platforms and was a little downhearted when I said PC (then mac, maybe linux and possibly consoles, but that consoles would be a long wait) as he only had consoles.

Anyway, long story short, at the end of the call in our goodbyes, he thanked me for making him spend some money, and that ED was something he NEEDED in his life!

My work here is done.

Zero for me despite quite a bit of effort.

You dont actually realise how clueless the human race can be until you make an attempt to sell them elite.

I'm like huh?? Potential to be the best game in PC history and youre like not so keen on the blocky looking ships???

ED is going to PS4, it is inevitable. PS4 is basically a slow PC with 8 cores and an AMD GPU that is very similar to the R9 270. It is just a matter of time;)
