Invalid Steam Key

Looking at returning to the game and install it through steam. Go to partner keys and I've generated a steam key. When I then go to steam and copy/paste it, I get the 'Invalid Product Code' message. Any suggestions?

Why install through Steam if you don't need to?

There might be an issue because Steam-bought versions of Elite are now "no-CD-Key" versions... Shouldn't affect earlier purchases and Frontier Store purchases but - you never know.

Yes. You can redeem a free Steam key if you've already bought Elite Dangerous or Horizons from the Frontier Store.
