Inventory Space Upgrade for Fossil Centre

I'm guessing this is super easy and obvious but i'm stuck on a missions to apply the inventory space upgrade, I've already done the research i just don't know how to apply it. Thanks for any help!

click on the fossil centre, then click on the up arrow tab. click in an empty slot and it'll bring up all the upgrades you've unlocked. select one and purchase it for it to apply to the building

You're looking at the expedition centre, the fossil centre is a different building, and I found this post because I made the exact same mistake and was googling for solutions.
