I posted this in the threadnaught, but it's moving too fast to get a reply. Hopefully it's ok to repost it here >_>
So when I logged out last night before the patch, I was on my way back from Colonia, still about ~14kly from Varati. If I just honk-scoop-jump, I can cover roughly 3kly/hr, but I'd kind of rather take my time and see if there's any contributions I can make to our investigations instead.
With that in mind, any ideas/suggestions on what to look for and where to prioritize looking? Or is there a specific subset of stellar classes that I'd want to filter for when plotting routes? For example:
- Have we found any classes of star where you're more likely to be hyperdicted, or where bases were more likely to be found?
- Any thoughts on whether thargoid encounters would be more, or less, likely around the deep-space outposts established along the route to Colonia?
- Should I make a point of doing a close inspection of any ammonia worlds I find? Closer than DSS range, I mean. What about any other planet types?
- Any particular categories of landable planets to keep an eye out for? I probably won't want to repeat the "fun" I had barnacle-hunting in the Witch Head Nebula, but still.
- Are there any regions of space between Polo Station and the bubble that we think might contain new sheeeeeecrets?
- etc...
For the record, I'll be acting as a purely peaceful envoy to any aliens I might encounter, on account of all my weapons being stored back at Varati
I'm in a 56ly-range Anaconda, with 4D shields and 6D thrusters, so hopefully I'll be able to survive any hostile encounters long enough to escape >_< I won't be the one who shoots first, in any case!
