Invisible Path Type

So the more I think about it the more having a 100% transparent path style makes sense. You can of course see the path when you are in path construction mode but when you come out it is completely invisible and the only purpose is to direct peep traffic, letting you design the rest of the area exactly how you want it to look.

I would allow you to create green grass park areas the peeps can walk on, guided through bushes and flower beds etc. But basically allowing you to design the floor you want maybe add in some railings or low walls and the invisi-path guides your peeps so they don't walk through your beautiful scenery!

It allows you to change the path width in certain places to get around objects without having it look horrible.

Thoughts?

I'd recommend still having the sides on the path as to make sense if a player does not surround the payh in scenery, but with the free place scenery you could hide it with shrubbery if you wanted.

Well if I had to pick just one it would be totally invisible as that is more flexible, but i'm not against an additional path type where just the floor is invisible and has some kind of border like little stones or something.

Invisible is too game-y. I understand the creativity, but it'd rather something less akward than paths being invisible. It just seems to sound like hiding the flaws of the current path editor instead of addressing to root of the problem.

I thought you meant like a path that can't be elevated but matches the texture of the ground to create sort of of grass or dirt walkways.

hmm indeed there has to be some kind of "ending" to the path so they dont go and walk all over the place.

I like this idea. Its just an option you dont have to use it. I would like to have a park without visible paths, make it like a carnival/fair ground. And this way it wouldnt be like they can walk just anywhere, you still have a path system in place. Its for the people who like using scenery around their paths without requiring a visible path covering the grass/landscape.

I wouldn't mind having this because then you might be able to have a hedge maze that you create if we had hedges that were taller than the peeps yet acted like walls (possibly double height).

Glad you guys agree! I was sad when bob the janitor didn't like it when it made perfect sense to me and would be a great extra style option.

In RCT3 exists a custom tool to build invisible paths. It´s very famous due to the fact that path textures and paths always are limited. With invisible paths you are able to create an infinite amount of paths. I think it´s great for advanced user, we can take care about not to build things into the way of the people. So, please include it.

+1 to this.
One of my favourite ideas so far :)
I feel the genre really needs to break away from the pathing system it has for something that feels more like real life theme parks.
Id like the entire pathing system to be invisible. You draw where guest can and can't go with invisible paths but create how the path looks ourselves using the building tools.

Edit: Something like the coaster station. After placing down ur invisible path you can click it for options to edit path or build path. Clicking "edit" will obviously allow you to add/delete/change the path and clicking on "build" will bring up a grid that follows ur path with a selection of path items along with the normal items.
Again im not good with words so i hope that makes sense.

So many more uses for this that are actually useful in real life. You can use other textures and allow guests to walk custom created contest without a huge path in the way. You can create custom flooring in buildings and allow guests to walk on them without a huge path with railings blocking everything you've created. I don't see why this couldn't be an option. Or even the ability to designate "walking" areas with like a paint brush or something of that nature and have the peeps react to the scenery (not walking through objects, etc)
I personally find this to be extremely useful and more realistic than the current pathing system.
