Discussion iPad support?

Are there any overlay/extra button type mods that would work on an iPad as the second screen? I noticed Icarus can be accessed via a browser, but didn't really understand how the Elite Cougar or Robert Maynard's app worked relating to a tablet running iOS. Not really interested in buying one of those sim button displays, bit I've got an iPad sitting here collecting dust!

Space Desk can be used to connect tablets to Windows as an extra monitor. Some say it works well.
