That looks really good. Elite Dangerous was my first and only kickstarter though.
Getting 'involved' in a game that way hasn't payed out for me at all.
I had very high hopes of ED and as a wise man once said, hope leads to disappointment.

If it turns out good I'll get it when they release it proper.

Is that this steampunk RTS? Following it losely. I'm confusing it with a couple of other Steampunk projects - one of them bound to release in April, I think.

I am not sure if it is steampunk, or rather dieselpunk, but aye, it indeed is a RTS strategy.
