Is a NUC type PC capable of running Elite?

It is widely known that many ordinary people turn into the most offensive griefers without one of these...

Oh, wait... NUC not Nuk... sorry, my misread.

I suppose with things suitably cranked down it might, on the right model, but Elite is not on the Playable Games List: https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...0005579/graphics-drivers/legacy-graphics.html

And given this thing is priced right around the price of an actual good graphics card, it's not a hard choice as to where I'd spend my money.

If it's capabie of doing Steam in home streaming however with a decent enough connection it might be worth a punt.

You can use a Steam Link, or even a Raspberry Pi 3 running moonlight-embedded as a client for Nvidia GeForce Experience for this case, a NUC is easy more than necessary.

Yes, the NUC can play Elite Dangerous. I do it. Here is how to get the best out of it.
An applet in the bottom right of windows system tray (kinda blue in color) opens the Intel Graphics Settings.
On that Intel Iris Graphics Control Panel... select gaming. I had to click the 'click here to view more supported games' link. It took me to https://gameplay.intel.com/?=cuiags6025 in my web browser. Select the 'auto detect" for your system and search for elite dangerous.
I was presented with three screen shots of the best graphics setting for my specific NUC system. Open the game and set these setting in the in-game graphics panel.
It now looks great. Probably not as great as many pure gaming systems, but wow.
i have the NUC7i7BNKQ bought in mid-2018.

Also all of the NUC's, apart from the very expensive top of the range Skull'thingy one, all use low power dual core CPU's (yes even the i5 and i7 ones), they will not play Elite at anything approaching decent graphic settings or FPS with those CPU's AND crappy Intel graphics!
NUC will play ED. See post later. This is probably just old info.

and yes at 1080p

This thread is 2 years old and things have moved on, I still stand by what I said, those older NUCs with weak dual core ULV cpu's are not good for Elite. My Lenovo Miix 520 with an i5 8250U quad core cpu & UHD 620 graphics runs it ok, it is playable at really low settings but not really ideal (it also tries to melt itself!), I certainly wouldn't attempt PVP while using it. When I play Elite I like my graphics settings all at high\ultra so only play it on my gaming pc.
