Is ABA trading even viable any more?

I did three loops in my cutter and the supply is dry. Even the station on one end that has a huge supply supply raised the prices on the commodity I was buying. Is this even a thing any more? The profits aren't even anything special. I was making about 2.5 million a loop, which would be ok if I could milk the route but three runs and it's done and I need to find a new route.

No, but it never was in the way you're doing it. A--B-A trading always dropped off after the supply and demand was impacted by bulk hauling. With a cutter you can exhaust supply and reduce demand over twice as fast as this effect would take place with an anaconda.

I used to notice the markets react after about 20m cr profit on a typical imp slave route. That was with a Python or anaconda doing up to 12m cr per hour. So after a couple of hours I either changed my location or did something else.

Also, you're not alone. There are thousands of CMDRs using trade calculator tools and finding the same high profit systems as you.

Try thinking outside the box a bit. Doing longer runs to stations that the lazy trader won't bother with helps to keep the profits higher for longer.

One way or another you need to eliminate the effect of other traders. Try finding trades in obscure permit systems.

You can also do a search on EDDB for highest local profit at each station you go to effectively running an A-B-C to Z and beyond route. Profits will average out over time and it's a great way to scout systems you may not otherwise go to.

If you're trying to go from tycoon to trade elite you need 10m cr per 1% progress. So you're looking at about 6 weeks doing A-B-A routes. Your best option is bulletin board missions as these are totally independent of market changes and pay out as full profit.

Long range trading and smuggling is still very much alive.

You can still make bank hauling islaves out of zemmyT space a-b-a, as the discount at the buying end (from the powerplay effect) means there's still half-decent profit to be made even when demand at the selling end is zero. It's not as good as pre 2.1 profit (where you could do the same thing for more $£ cause demand would never slump that far down) but if you can find a half-decent backhaul on top, it's ok enough and still possible to churn millions steady grinding a route.

Its still a thing. I found a nice little 2-jump (1 in a T6) route that pays 2.6 mill on a round trip, is being jackhammered by trade ships too. Profits dip by maybe 20 credits p/t over an evening, and rebound nicely by the next day.

Granted though, this is the first route of this quality that I have seen in months.

When I just got my Conda and the nerf hit the passenger missions I tried so islaves trading.
The payout was good, about 1 million a run just 1 jump away.
It lasted only a day and a half, no more islaves for sale, is that normal?, normally I don't trade ABA, I run bb missions.

It can be. Always take note of the supply. Under 100k, it wont last long. 200k and up is usually more resilient. Pretty sure system state, government type etc can have an effect too but I'm not sure how.
