Is anybody else having a hard time getting logged on?

Yeah, I’m having the same problems. All Frontier websites are flaky - either horribly slow, or just sit there trying to load, but will occasionally out of nowhere just be fine.

The game was a BIT laggy Wednesday evening, really bad last night (same issues as @ScribJellyDonut ) and today its completely unusable. The launcher takes a couple of minutes to appear, then takes several more minutes just to get to the hangar menu screen. Any attempt at playing results in another three or four minute wait, followed by a scarlet krait.

Are you using Comcast/Xfinity by any chance?
Unfortunately yes I am using Comcast. Between being bent over a mailbox and being bent over a car hood, I'd definitely take the latter. Alas, FIOS is not setup in this area so I get the mailbox.

I wonder if it's some shenanigans with Comcast - I've definitely already changed my DNS after I caught Comcast doing MITM on me - f uckers. I think I need to VPN out of their B S.

Since having started working where I do a few years ago, I've been a very involved mechanical engineer for the last couple of years. That is to say it's been a while since I've had to wear the hat of a network engineer. I ran a tracert to the forum IP and it definitely is choking somewhere on the east coast. I'm giving Wireshark a go, just because I like to troubleshoot things a bit. I'd be interested to see if there's anyone in either in MST or PST who has some networking experience who could give some insight.

Weirdly, on the suggestion of an IT friend, I disabled wifi on my phone and tried accessing the forums with cellular data. Zero problems, loaded right up. Turned wifi back on, can't access them again.

So methinks it's something with d'internets in the USA, possibly something's going "ploink" with AWS. (Aside from the expected lunacy around the CG area)
When I launch ED and it is taking FOREVER (minutes), I keep getting a lot of unacknowledged ACKs from 18.214.111.36 & 52.30.155.79

Those are AWS on either side of the pond... so I guess Bezos took over the interwebs and borked it. Fantastic.

So while the game is launching and trying to connect (spinning ship model before dropping an Orange Sidewinder error) these are the packets I'm seeing. The 52.208.176.61 is YET ANOTHER AWS node.

As far as I can tell this isn't particularly an issue with ED, insofar as it's an issue with ED using AWS, which is totally borking the routing. Again, I'm not the world's SME on packet transmission, but this at least tells me that it's getting totally faced at the AWS nodes.

That'll be $50,000 for consulting fees.

Please fix.

I'm in Mountain time as well, also on XFinity (no choice here in COS), and it's basically unplayable. I'll try a VPN to the UK and see if that helps. If it doesn't, then it's FDev. If it does, well, FDev needs to work with AWS and Xfinity to resolve routing issues or fire up more servers for our region.

Okay, I just tied a VPN to Manchester UK, and it's absolutely 100% fine and fast. It's a routing issue in the United States, probably to do with our friends at Xfinity being their usual awesome selves. I hope that FDev can work with them and AWS to resolve this, because I know as a XFinity client, ringing their support people is like ringing a brain damaged pigeon on meth.

Thank You , also Xfinity customer

I'm in the Midwest, also have Xfinity. Had massive issues last night, and some this morning as well, with my Steam copy of ED. For kicks I loaded my copy from the Epic Store this morning and had no latency issues at all. Verified files of my Steam copy and now it seems to be working fine. I'm not sure if that fixed it or if it's a coincidence but it might be worth a try.

Was doing fine until just now... then got a black adder* error when opening station services & couldn't get re-connected to the servers until after verifying files.

Weird.

* I'll wager that error never had to rescue 14 drowning sailors in a storm off the cape of good hope, m'lord
