Is anyone else still doing the Yembo community goal?

And if not, why not?

Could it be the premium prices given (384cr per ton profit on Palladium at the moment) or is it Johnny McPewpew treating it as his personal fish in a barrel game?

I've only done just over 3500 tons and I'm in the top 15% which is ludicrous. I shouldn't be higher than top 70% at that level. We have no hope whatsoever of achieving the goal. We're just over tier three out of seven with 29 hours to go which is a shame. It would have been nice to have seen that station being built.

I think a lot of people came along, found that the profits hardly covered the wear and tear on their ships and went away again.

Couldn't something have been done to the local market to ensure that at least normal galactic profit margins could have been achieved despite the volume of material being shifted, if not the "premium prices" that were promised?

I know it's about doing something for the community rather than making loads of money but the "come and help us" blurb should have made that clear to people rather than enticing people in with the promise of profits only to fail to deliver them.

Apparently 4577 people have contributed to this so far. Where are they all?

Wasn't the global reward for Tier 1 "Success"? I thought that was all that was needed. The rest are stretch goals.

I visited the other night but found most of the local systems have been stripped of metals so no real profits to be made, I've since headed back to my local trade haunt for now.

I'm in the top 5%.

It is impossible for me to advance any further, and it is impossible to reach the next tier. That's why I stopped.

You should see the combat goal in Khasiri, absolutely blazed through the stretch goals. Last time I checked everyone signed up is getting a 15% outfitting discount for like 5 days plus a pretty generous cash prize. Highest contributor's getting 2.5mil and there's still another tier or two to unlock. These things seem pretty lucrative if enough people do them, but it helps when it's something not incredibly dull like trading.

But isnt it also bugged where the faction rep is flipped...

Maybe? I don't know, my Federation rep has only gone up since starting it. I'm running the CZ at BD+03 2338 and warping back to Khasiri to cash in the bonds. Seems to be working fine, but I haven't paid close attention so far.

Not sure what is up with everyone, I am making 1500 a ton profit on gold from only 3 hops. And what's risky in open play? I have been playing open play all the way and not had any problems I could not deal with. Do people not want excitement in their game anymore? Bizarre.

rewards were not enough. Profits were OK but no return trip profit. Piracy was too much. Few thousand credits & 5% off at the station for a few days, ummm - no thanks.

I'm in the top 70% with around 1000t hauled.

I really think Frontier could have improved it by simply adding a non-credit related reward. A decal, a permit, a module, allied status with new starport...anything like that. Especially since it's the very first public community goal....

I wanted to like it, but as a community goal for trader pilots, the incentives are just not compelling enough to continue grinding that many tons of materials. Maybe if the rewards were measured in millions it would help. Maybe...
I dunno. When I feel like grinding I can already make about 1 million every ten minutes on my regular trade route.

first of all, i'm not so much into hauling, so it's just not for me.

but in general i'm having a hard time to attach to this galaxy and feel and care for it.
i think one reason may be the presentation through the galnet, in pure text, it doesn't transport any emotional value, let alone creating a hype.

some non-monetary prizes, like mentioned above, also seem a good idea.

yup, still hanging in there although havent been able to do much over the weekend as has been quite busy non game wise. just delivered three loads of 108t of palladium and was also a little surprised to now be in the top 15% with under 3k. have stripped my asp down for trading and found a pretty good 2 hop trading route with short distance to starport at the other end. am getting about 1450 one way and about 450 the other. which i dont think is too bad and quite a quick turn around. playing in solo by the way. im interested in how the cash reward dynamic develops as now past level 3 and on the way to 4 which will increase the payout. clearly we wont get to level 7 which would probably be a bonanza for participants. havent found it a grind at all and my asp is pretty nippy and can do 5 or 6 an hour if i really focus. makes a bit of change to focus on summat rather than aimlessly wandering...

and the sun is shining so off for 30 miles or so on my bike...

Hey Commanders,

In the first 2 days when the whole thing started I wasn't even sure we will manage to reach Tier 2. But now I am happy to see ppl did try their best (at least for a few days)! I wasn't really expecting a lot, but I think that for the first time we did well! The event hasn't finished but I don't think that there are gonna be changes.

I have to suggest though, that the bonuses shall be better, and directly connected with the type of goal. I mean, building a new station is something HUGE, huge shall be the rewards. At least if I compare it with other community goals like retaking X system (the one related with combat bonds), the 15% in all outfitting is much better and more fun than trading huge amounts of resources and risking more (if you want to carry huge amounts of resources outfitting your ship to that purpose, thus losing combat capabilities).
