Is anyone holding off playing ED to death....

will get an OR but will wait for the official release of the kit, should be cheaper with better resolutions by then.

I'm not sure about the Rift just yet, I can't imagine wearing that thing on my face :D

But I really can't see the consumer version costing less than the £205 that the DK2 is ATM

They should design them to have things fitted onto the front of them. A face hugger from Alien would look quite cool :D

I only get to play a little bit anyway, my wife and kids make me do real life stuff!

As for the Rift I'm holding off until the full release to see what the cost will be and also to see exactly what dastardly deeds the facebook lot get up to! ;)

That would be WORSE !!! :D .. Someone walks in and you turn around with a facehugger on your face .. Oh the shame ...

<Now where is my Darth Vader voice changing mask?>

I hope Facebook don't have an agenda other than providing funding for development (which is great for us) and obviously to make profit. I think the knee jerk reaction was understandable but I can't believe they would jeopardise such a strong product. I think it could really change many industries, and this is just the beginning ! Exciting times !

...until they receive their Oculus DK2 ? I want to experience things for the first time in full 3d as it should be.

Yeah. Restricted myself to a few hours 'testing' a week and am still flying a trusty old Sidewinder. I had a quick look inside the Eagle, took it for a spin, then sold it and went back to the Sidewinder as I want my first impressions of the Cobra Mk III, Lakon, Anaconda, and the rest to be through the experience of a DK2

Yep, I can't wait to experience what I one tenth experienced using anaglyph mode and some lovely cardboard glasses. That was pretty impressive to me so being totally absorbed into your ship and the universe and everything it contains...OMG !

Focusing on trading in the hauler at the moment so am playing using the monitor as text in DK1 is unpleasant. Will go back to more interesting stuff once DK2 arives

I was thinking the same but then a graphics card powerful enough for CV1 will probably cost more than you save or not be available when CV1 launches. DK2 seemed a better bet to me.

I am holding off on other games due to wanting to play them on the rift but I'd played a bit of E: D. Stopped playing as much recently just so I don't burn out.

yes but not (just) because of the rift - though I WILL be having a dabble when that arrives.

I dont want to spoil the magic by over playing now.........
