Is anyone now playing the game without issues on PC?

Yesterday, during a 2-hour session, I locked up twice for the stated 10-15 seconds.
When it happened on Saturday while in VR, there was an hourglass in the corner, suggesting the VR system had lost comms with the app.

I had a couple of momentary stalls during supercruise and a 10s freeze within the fss last eve, but nothing major and everything seemed to be ok afterwards.

Occasional screen freezes for about 6 seconds and my very first ED CTD’s in 4 years as I tried to enter a CZ tonight and exiting the FSS a couple of days ago.
I will note that ED has always performed flawlessly so these are 3.3 issues but I reckon they’ll be worked out.

Same, it freezes a few seconds every hour or so, plus I've had a crash. And of course the bugs, such as the inability to scan many things for the codex.

Aww the elephant in the room. Yesterday i had 4 disconnects and 1 friend that we were on voice together, had the freezes.
It will go away as soon as the most people that came back to check out the new stuff, go away lol.
Standard tactic to fix those things, in this game... wait it out.

Tried yesterday. First exit from FSS and the game crashed.

I keep increasing period between tries. I guess next try is going to be during the weekend. :p

Ditto, games freezes for several seconds every hour or so. Also had the game lock up or CTD at least 10 times since upgrade. Also not just me, wingmates are having the same issues.

The game is a lot less stable since the patch but it was a large upgrade so a lot of changes, I guess FD will eventually sort these bugs out.

I've seen the scan issue - usually from SRV, no Codex update, which is strange... I did read another post on this forum where someone used a SLF to scan POI's for Codex. No SLF (Phantom) anymore but the Comp scanner from the ship works (so far) every time, just a bit 'interesting' on High-G planets :)

Like many others I have also been getting random freezes up to 20-30 seconds, usually preceeded by losing comms in the talk window.

currently on a guardian site trying to power up pillars.
didnt have any freeze (which sounds weird due to the frequent occurence of the bug in exploring cessions last weekend)
listening to the fans, i d say planet terrain is more demanding than simple flight, still, no freeze while in SRV.

I was able to play pretty much 'normally' daytime yesterday, the freezes didn't start happening until the evening (probably when folk arrived home from work) but were far less last night than over the weekend.

With luck the Dev's will have found the errant server(s) and the issue will be gone :)

I get a 5-20 second freeze of the game with 3.3, no such freeze before the most recent version of Elite.

(my ISP provides IP for 24 hrs, then gives new one. This makes router to "reset" which in return disconnects for a minute or so)

that's not an isp but an iss (internet service scammer).

remedies to try:
- unless you play 24h, release the ip before a game session. there's a chance they give you a new one right away (there's also a chance that not)
- plan your sessions accordingly
- complain, or find a serious isp. ip rotation is understandable and can be accepted, routinely breaking your open connection definitely can not.

oh, i still get the freezes. they seem to be declining in frequency and duration. yay!
fortunately i play in solo atm so they are only annoying and have no risk. also, i assume solo is a lot less impacted by connectivity problems.
and i stumble across a lot of bugs but don't really care much, and don't bother to report. i don't take frontier's defect policy seriously anymore.

the game is playable as is. and i enjoy it. that's all i care.

and yes, i said i wouldn't play until after second patch. that's me, spirit of contradiction! i actually have played quite a bit last few days :D

Hi Troz Have some Rep+1 just for getting me thinking: your knowledge is obviously way beyond mine... I'm having these glitches..and have the game installed on a blisteringly fast onboard Samsung M.2 SSD (1TB) ...AND... Graphics courtesy of an RTX2080 8GB GDDR6... (CPU is 9th gen i7-9700K all with no OC'ing tho)
So from what you intimate...should I be expecting problems from over-specced hardware??
Very unlikely in an up-to-date game. You might have some problems with really old games. In this case ED is most likely at fault. In general driver or firmware issues, some weird AV or even Windows updates being installed in the background can be reason for performance issues.

@topic:
-game client softlocks
-CZ: -no option for choosing a side while in a Wing
-CZ: -despite having sided, I recevied a bounty for shooting on enemies
-CZ: -empty
-unresponsive controls
-AI: -while in reverse AI does "nose hug" my Corvette

Ah. Here I thought it was my graphics card acting up. I too get random 10-15 second freezes. Doesn't happen often, like maybe once every few hours, but it does happen.

Save a copy then replace it, this happened to me today but lucky I have a copy of my bindings at the ready.

Oh I have saved my bindings now. Unfortunately my ED pathway to bindings end's with /Options.... no bindings file. I put a folder on the end of Options/ so it reads Options/Bindings.... unfortunately after I shut the PC down and later come to reboot ED... I'm back to square one and bindings file has vanished once again. FD support are engaging with me on this one... so here's hoping.

Chat comms have been working only very briefly and been having the same lockup issues everyone else seems to be having.

Was glad to see the back of the interface lockup issues though, haven't had any since the patch.
