is asp in supercruise faster than cobra?

i also think that i will eventually switch from cobra to asp for exploring pourposes. question is, what can asp offer me except bigger jump range? only supercruise speed eventually. if not, then asp is not worth my credits.

so, can anybody confirm that asp is faster in supercruise? is asp able to catch cobras in free deep space ?
