Is ASUS TUF Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 OC 12GB GDDR6 any good?

any good compared to what?

but imho: dont buy OC cards, you pay extra for the overclock (iirc OC cards usually add arround £€$100-500 to the price) which you can usually achieve yourself for free... and 9 times out of 10 when you have an issue with games like ED one of the recommended solutions maybe to disable or under clock your GPU ;)

youll can usually find guides on reddit etc on how to achieve the overclock you would otherwise be paying £$€ for

My last GFX cards have been (are still running) Asus Strix OC versions - all worked fantastic and I have no hesitation going Asus OC for a 3000 series card, but are not much in sight. So a £600ish 3060 12GB is tempting in the interim but I was looking for an informed opinion of the card, the chipset and the 12GB memory combo.

try GPU boss and compare your old and new cards. this should give you a clearer overview as wheather its worth wasting £600 now or waiting until closer to the end of the year or 2022 when some of these other cards are estimated to be available.. iirc estimates in april were around 6 months for things to start returning to normal

What's the card you have at the moment?

That is not really relevant - they need upgrading for MSFS. This machine has a GTX1070 8GB and my secondary has the older GTX 970 4GB (both ROG STRIX OC) - the 3060 would of course be a step up, I just want to know how it stands overall.

Oh dear - I am not being clear - yes the 3060 would be an upgrade, that is not my question - it is how does that card stand up to other 3000 series.

Just interested :)

The 600 is possibly as low as you can get it at them moment, the TUF works fine in the box of my younger brother.
I'm holding out for a Strix successor to my 2080 (that's partly the reason I asked), prices are going down slowly at the moment. Especially 3060 production seems to have been ramped up.
