Is CO–0.40–0.22* in the game?

Can't seem to find the cloud nor the black hole under that naming convention. There's strong evidence to suggest that it's currently the second largest known black hole in the Milky Way, so I wouldn't mind visiting it if it's in the game along with Sgr A* and the Great Annihilator.

Given that the scientific paper postulating the existence of a supermassive black hole there was not published until 2015, I would assume the answer is "no". There is only one SBH in-game, and that's Sag A*. As for the cloud, the only way to add "gas clouds" to ED is to create a nebula, and there are no nebulae anywhere near the galactic core.

FD might be science fans, but they don't have an army of people trawling the astronomical research papers looking for new things to add to the in-game universe. They only tend to add things like TRAPPIST-1 and Persephone (Planet Nine), that make the popular press.

There is one 'nebula' in the ED core: G2 Dust Cloud, but your points are well put for sure

Yeah, a bit of a long shot I suppose. Maybe it'll be something Frontier adds eventually for a bit more variety and accuracy. Sgr A* is kind of an old hat at this point in terms of the exploration gameplay/destination it provides. For me at least, it's made me wonder what other interesting and noteworthy black holes might be in the game, so I ended up here.

Maybe we'll get lucky and there will be some "fireworks" or similar to pique public interest. Having a catchier name wouldn't hurt either.

Cheers.
