I wanted to purchase the Type 7 but the outfitting availability is shocking. Currently parked at Colonia Hub as the shipyard had more ships for sale but where are the upgrades. I would've thought the equipment was available

Dervish platform (Eol Prou LW-L c8-306) is the best outfitters but it's a platform only so your type 7 would be out. Try getting say a DBX or Asp so you can fly there and get 5B FSD drive and 4B PP then swap at coriolis station where you can park both up.

Awesome, thanks for that. I've purchased a Keelback instead of the Type-7 and went to Dervish platform to outfit it as much as possible. Thus far there are no missions or passenger missions to be had. I guess I'll fit it out for mining. I'll leave my trusty DBX parked for the time being.
Any suggestions on a decent fit out for Mining? Perhaps an Adder for local mining is the way to go.

Currently, I use an Imperial Clipper for mining but I used an AspX before that. Personally, I wouldn't use an Adder as it is quite small. If you're looking for a cheap-ish solution the type-6 would be good.
There are so many people there I guess it's fairly approachable.
Well, I did buy the Type-7 but decided to sell it and bought myself both an Asp X and a Type-6. I think I'm satisfied now with my selection. So hoping we'll get engineers up here sooner rather than later just to boost some of the gadgets up a bit as well as some class A upgrades would be awesome to get. Currently 26.25 LY in my Asp X and 23 LY in my Type-6

Working my way from CRAB pulsar to Elephant Trunk nebula. Currently docked in an asteroid station in NGC7822. from there I will head on to core and Colonia. I must say that last 1k LY to NGC7822 was a bit hard due to density of stars in that gap between galactic arms. I have 32 Ly jump range (Cobra MK3) and had to use jumponion couple of times to avoid going around. The route I took, was fine in the beginning and after few detours (to check shinny B stars) I ended up in a very empty section of space. You know that something isn't right when left navigation panel is almost empty.
I believe the worse is behind me, but I will remain vigilant and will use this experience for further route plotting to look beyond next 1k Ly.
I must say I'm enjoying my trip so far, many undiscovered WW, few AW and few ELW . I found one N star which is now tagged by me.
Payouts are great so by the time I'm back in bubble (not sure yet when that will happen), I will have enough credits to buy a lot of new toys.
Who knows, maybe FD will add some cool effects to SAG A by the time i reach it, not complaining but it would be very cool to have something like in Interstellar, not holding my breath though
