CQC Is CQC dead?

Hello commanders. I myself am I console player with a sad message. CQC is so dead that you can't get into games. My question to the PC folk. Is CQC dead for you guys to?

Whats CQC,....................................................................................................................... he asks with tongue in cheek ;)

Frontier tend to do a CQC livestream event (advertised on the forums) once a week or so, CQC traffic picks up during these periods, so getting a game should be possible then if ever.

And I know they'll never be in open..

AFAIK plans are to introduce them with 2.2.

But yeah, CQC/Arena is practically dead. Sometimes you have to wait to get a game, sometimes there's no game at all. For example I have never been able to catch a game of CTF ever since the mode was launched. I don't even know how the flag looks! and I'm semi-pro or something.

Whatever the basic rank is in cqc, I'm it. Never grabbed my interest. What I would like is the cqc station assets in the main game for more variety. Shipyards, factories, etc etc.

I sincerely hope not as I think it could be something great with a little cultivation. I've tried to get into it a couple times, but could never find a game.

It'd be just fine if they'd make it a part of ED. Instead they went full-tilt in the other direction and released it as a standalone title on console.

RIP CQC. Bye Arena.

Had a look at CQC last week to show a friend of mine and didn't get a game, it's totally dead.
This is what happens when one panders to Microsoft!

The idea they had (as usual) was quite good.

The original GALnet articles were deleted (History rewrite, anyone? ;) ), but it was supposed to be a Military Simulator of the Federal Navy.
A place to get "the lazy youth of the Federation out of their Sims and gain interest in the Federal Navy" (Quote original GALnet), but also a place where Commanders throughout the Galaxy could compete for fame & fortune.

Well, what was the unique chance to create the Federation's own "Kobayashi Maru" Test turned out as a Consoles'que total "Quake III Arena" conversion of ELITE.
The old story : great idea - not-so-great implementation

Whatever will come from CQC (I do assume the assets produced for it will indeed be recycled to appear in the main Game at some time), it will always be remembered as the "Right Ship Panel Trojan".
The 4th Pilot's Federation Rank that never was a Pilots Federation Rank...

Once we get to walk around Stations, I'd expect to see Arcade machines in the Station's Bar area.
That's exactly the place where CQC belongs - a nice little Arcade Shooter to cool off and fun around after a hard day at work in the real ELITE Universe.
And for those that really like it, no harm in chasing a few HighScores there or participate in championships.

Works fine for me. Quite fun in VR! And yeah, they definitely said they'd like to bring the assets into the main game. It'll be fun to have some more complicated CZs with cover. Might be good for wing missions later this season for multicrew.

Well, I am definitely not a part of "we". I don't play CQC often and I am not very successful if I do so, but I enjoy it nevertheless.

Try weekends to find a game. It might take a while, even then, but at least this is the best time to give it a run. Expect to find yourself in a group with a wide skill-range, though.

I admit, this isn't the best sign for this game mode. I find this a pity!
