Is CZ side choosing bugged?

Hey gang,

I've been playing the current CG in HIP 54530 and I have had this happen several times.

When I enter the CZ and the 'pick a side' selection panel appears at top left, sometimes......not all the time...I can't get my cursor to go into select a side. I can see the box but can't activate it to make a selection. Has anyone else noticed this?

It's frustrating, as it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes I just click in and choose away. It's those times when I can't that is so annoying. Is there a specific way to get your cursor into that selection box that I'm not aware of and I'm jagging it sometimes? Or is there a problem with the box not being active sometimes. Don't know if it's me or the game?

Maybe I'm just not holding my mouth right...

Or do others experience this?

As a HOTAS user, I can't help, as I've got the panel bindings on my Throttle and Joystick Hat. You should be able to bind keys for panel navigation rather than using the mouse tho'.

Just noticed that even though I picked Jupiter, using the "next hostile contact" keybind targets Jupiter ships, ooops. Maybe it's a thing where I accidentally flew into the line of fire of a Jupiter ship, so the game got confused and assumed Jupiter to be "hostile"? Weird.

i always use the keys to select the comms and choose a side. didn't know you can use the mouse/mouth for that...

but i also deactivated the free-look-select feature because i find it irritating.

Strange, because I have collected ALL my combat bonds by just starting to shoot the 'enemies'. Didn't even know such an option exists. ;)
Thinking of it, I think I had a CZ a while ago, where I did not have any bonds when I checked after it was over. So might actually be something bugged there occasionally.

It used to be if you chose a side by shooting someone that both sides went hostile and attacked you.

I have had no desire to test if that is still the case no matter how many changes have been made.

As for the issue I also use the 'hats' to navigate panels with no more trouble than can be explained by clumsiness.

That particular tab in the Comms panel also has a small up-down pair of tiny tabs at the top left, have you accidentally tabbed down in that selector?

Thanks for all the discussion guys.....just back...sleep, work, you know.

I use HOTAS and use hats to navigate panels too. I know the 'pair of tiny tabs' and I can't even interact with them when this problem occurs. I might try the suggestion of keyboard.....it's not too bad, usually leaving the CZ and coming back in helps.

I'll try to experiment with shooting someone and see if I get combat bonds that contribute to the CG. Mind you, I'll only get one kill and go cash in, lol.
