Is Dav's Hope still a good farming spot?

I've never been to Dav's Hope, but I see mentions from last year saying it's a great spot to farm mats. Is this still the case, or is there another spot out that way that's replaced it?

I like being able to upgrade and customise ships, but jeese, flying or bouncing around praying to RNGesus to source resources is just abysmal game 'design'. The brokers aren't a good enough solution (especially if the exchange rates remain so steep), and I've no idea why FDev don't just allow people to buy mats with credits, at least G1's to 4, leaving The Grind and RNGesus to see to G5's, so the player still has a reason to faff about in signal sources and wotnot.

That was a prompt reply. ; -)

Good to hear - I bookmarked it already and will head out there tonight or tomorrow.

it is not ! - why ? because its been made public , as usual the helpful people out there , actually kill it - they should keep the cakehole shut , but by design they are trying to do good - but inadvertently fk it up .. 07 - fd should really stop nerfing crap , since the grinds boring everyone - thats probably why hardly anyone's not bothering getting the guardian crap ( another grind ) - or give @!!!!@ about the thargoid attacked stations .

Almost hate posting this here but if it's Data Materials (from scanning things) that you need, the best site is Jameson Crash Site. You get G5/G4 Data Material nearly every single time from all 4 comms beacons there. You get Adaptive Encryptors Capture nearly every time sometimes 12 in one pass you can then exchange this G5 Data Material for other Data Material.

I don't think it's fair to just blame people that spread the word, not like FDev doesn't have the capabilities to check where players are visiting in mass and figure out for themselves what the hell is going on there. I mean come on they get metrics from where most players are, what missions we're taking, etc. Eventually, they will do what they want to with or without anyone saying anything.

What we can do as a player base is a protest in mass when we truly think something shouldn't be a certain way.

LOL the guy asking for help with everything is complaining about helpful people....
someone quote me as I'm obviously still on his ignore list.

If you there, scan the six messages at the buildings.
This enables that you see Dav's Hope in Navpanel for the next visit.
Yeah, there was no chance I wasn't going to scan stuff whilst there, but it's good to know it logs it.

Why do you say "almost hate" posting that?

And I'm after anything and everything, frankly. Usually when I've done stints of resource gathering I do it mostly calling upon RNGesus at signal sources and wotnot. I've had enough of that now, and want to source mats in the most efficient way possible (well, provided it doesn't break RP by requiring killing innocents). Sourcing mats is a boring waste of time - developing a build (especially playing around with options) is fun. FDev really should drastically cut the former back to emphasise the latter.

I suppose G5's for FSD and DSS's are priorities at the moment, as the former's always invaluable, and the latter's something I've just unlocked, and as an explorer that's obviously of interest.

Never visited the Jameson site, so I'll head there after a few rounds at Dav's Hope (parked up about 800m from it). And yeah, it's not exactly an insta-jackpot, but it's better than wasting time with signal sources.

I said that cause I'm surprised it hasn't been nerfed yet lol. You no longer have to go to a station in a famine system to scan outgoing ships or go to CZ and scan the combat ships around. Jameson Crash site for all your Data materials. I just found that out by chance when I was visiting it and used it to get all my G5 upgrades when they required ANY data stuff.

In like twenty minutes or 30 minutes of server flipping you'll have like 60-80 G5 data materials and they exchange nicely since they're G5's.

Ah, fair enough.

Y'know I actually quite like the idea of hunting for resources via scans and wotnot, but the way it's implemented really isn't good.

Oh God, I just completed upgrading my 4 burst lasers to efficient G5. Hunting for High-Grade signals for Proto Heat Radiators was NOT fun I'll tell you that much.

there is the return to form the angry posts we normally see. Was getting a little worried after the mainly Happy newish posts. Was this proof of a alien invasion, now I don’t need to worry . Also for the OP Dava hope still works but they nerfed it slightly in spawn rates of materials, still board hoping but it’s not as good as it used to be

Not only Dav's Hope exist to farm materials. There are similar places out in the dark.
CANONN lists here what is found so far: https://canonn.science/codex/surface-sites/
For example 'Carmichael Point' on planet 'HIP 16824 A2 F' at coordinates 73.8762, 61.8761 is an abandoned settlement similar Dav's Hope.
Or 'Taylor Keep' on planet '12 Trianguli A1' at -51.5711, 130.6677.
And those are only a few jumps away from Jamesons Crash Site.
The 'twin' of Dav's Hope is: https://canonn.science/codex/lookout-military-test-facility/

Hadn't actually visited any INRA sites yet, but yeah, they seem to be pretty decent sources.

The Jameson crash and Dav's still seem to be the best for drops, at least in my limited experience thus far. Carmichael almost gave me all I needed for Ram Tah (it's not a priority, that just turned into a nice bonus) from the single datapoint pillar.

Taylor Keep's logs were kinda meh. A bit too villainously villainous for my liking, especially given Jameson's final flight was quite interesting.
