Is ED an old school martial arts film?

Huh? I hear you ask...

Do you remember those old films the bad guys almost queued patiently whilst waiting to take on the hero?

Well, I help but think that's I've had the same experience so far against npcs, in fact I think the tutorial was the only time I ended up 2 v 1.

Either I'm missing it completely, or generally (asides the police) don't generally gang up...

Basically I love ED and combat, but want to see it get more challenging and variable, to the point the hardest places I really need friends to help even the odds.... maybe it'll come with wings?

I've been ganged up on plenty of times by small bands of pirates, but it generally only seems to happen when they're actually in a faction together and hostility to one means hostility to all present. Multiple pirates with separate agendas in the same NAV or RES don't seem to notice each other much.

I lost an Asp in Beta to multiple high ranking Cobra's. They all belonged to the same faction, it was me against 3 ships.

Have you been to a conflict zone? I quite often get attacked by multiple ships there...when a potential cap ship also joins in that is usually a good time to take the hint and leave. :D

Sounds exactly the thing, though has it been toned down since? I remember getting interdicted by an imperial clipper (I had an freeagle could barely fly) on my first day of the gamma , seemed to get easy since then.

If you want a challenge, go to an anarchy nav-point and paint 5 or 6 ships with a single laser strike :D

Believe me, you haven't lived until you accidentally fire on a friendly capital ship and make it out of the ensuing firestorm alive. Quite a tone shift from picking off any silly enemies that jumped in to having to run for your life as every gun within 10km points in your direction.

If you want multiple hostiles go to an anarchy system's nav beacon with at least 1 item in your cargo hold and you'll attract every pirate that jumps there. If you are up for more of a challenge, also do some bounty hunting at the same time (with a KWS).

However be careful for what you wish for as even two sidewinders with competent or above status with lasers can strip the shields on a A-rated Cobra fairly quicky, and if an Anaconda joins the fight and blind-sides you with a plasma acc it'll get pretty hairy very quickly. I've done a few 1 vs 3 fights, which were fun, but that was before the latest balance passes, most notably the changes to Shield cell banks will hurt a lot multi-fights.
