Horizons Is Elite Dangerous story borrowing from Mass Effect now?

Hi CMDR's
Being a fan of a broad swathe of SF as I'm sure a lot of us are, I often notice "cross-fertilisation" between different SF Games, Books, Films etc, it is inevitable that elements will crop up across the broad spectrum.
Some of this "plagiarism/copying" will be unintentional, but there again perhaps not:
.
Tonight I noticed something a bit "out-of-place" IMHO.......
.
Whilst entering Gresley Dock in Nanomam, being the headquarters of the FEDERATION president Zach Hudson I saw this on the Galaxy Map intro for the system:

.
"The N7 ALLIANCE Navy serves and protects the Milky Way from all who endanger factions and interstellar peace"
.
I have two questions:
.
1. The reference N7 is quite obviously a direct reference to the most famous identifier of "Mass Effect"...... why is it in ED?:S
2. Why is there an "advert" for the ALLIANCE attached on the descriptor for the most FEDERATION of stations there are in the game (bar Winters of course)?:O
.
Just wondering...................[where is it]

I've actually been wondering if the Derelict Reaper from Mass Effect was floating around a star someplace in ED.

It wouldn't be called that, of course, but named something so that it would be a clear Easter Egg.

Yeah, definitely a player faction. Still not happy about giving away "important" systems to player factions though.

Fairly sure it is a player faction, in which case, that is why.

Hi CMDR's
Thanks for the replies, I'm sure you are all correct in saying it's down to "Player Factions", I really hadn't considered that the player input could be so deeply embedded in the game.
I knew that players/player groups/factions could submit material for FD to consider perhaps edit then include in the game, but I thought this was mainly restricted to GalNet submissions and didn't realise until you have all pointed out that it extends to "in-game" FD scripted "lore".
I'm still confused as to why when you click on Nanomam in the Galaxy Map with the sole SYSTEM descriptor heading selected, the description that you get presented with is for an Alliance function or enterprise..... just doesn't make sense.... well not to me anyway.
What next?... perhaps when we are entering the Federation HQ station of Gresley Dock we'll see the holographic signs attached to the toast rack all blaring "ALLIANCE" and/or "EMPIRE" slogans.
.
Rep +1 for CMDR's that have given their kind replies. Thanks
.

It's not THE ALLIANCE (Edmund Mahon), it's the "N7 Alliance" which is just some random name that some players came up with. It could be called the "Lite Beer Alliance" or "Alliance to Restore the Republic". There are lots of alliances out there.
