Is every killing animation the same?

I haven't purchased the game but based on a few of the videos I've seen, it appears that every single time a dinosaur kills a human, it's the exact same tripping animation. Is this indeed the case?

It depends on the animal, large carnivores eat the guests the same way whilst smaller carnivores sort of "pounce" on them, although the Dilophosaurus also uses its spit. Guests can also get trampled and knocked over by any dinosaur that can injure or kill them if it's big enough.

Yeah but it still feels like, there is just one killing animation on each dinosaur... If you watch raptors killing guests, the guest is allways falling down and turning around, and WOW the raptor jumps on him, and another one, and another one. Where is the nice animation like in the movies, where the guy also falls down [big grin] but he falls down on his belly and the raptor will stand on him, and put his claw in the back of the prey, and playing around? Where is the nice chase, when a raptor jumps on the back of the running guest, bringing him down and then break his neck?

Yeah I know, I know wishlist thread...

Yup [up]

Nick Rodgers, head of animation, may be victim of his own success here! (What are you doing reading this thread Nick? Get back to work!) :D

By now most of us who have played the game have the feeling it was rushed to release close to the movie's release (whether by Frontier themselves of by Universal, we don't know). I personally think this is the best game ever to grace my PC, but I do also see the many things that need fixing. Adding animations is definitely one of these. Not only the guest killing animations, but also to dino vs dino kills. Every large carnivore does the exact same thing when going for another large carnivore, there have to be more ways for them to kill each other...
I am also confident that FD do read the pinned wishlist/suggestion thread and will work tirelessly to improve the game if they agree with the posts in said thread (which they should for 90%)

Pretty much. There might some slight variations but I don't have that many yet. I know I put an Edmontosaurus in an enclosure with the Cerato on Matanceros and it basically did the same kind of killing animation the Rex does in the prerendered trailer everyone whines about. It's also the same animation you see the Spinosaur use in the species profile. Of course the Edmontosaurs don't fight back they just run around and honk.

The Indoraptor is supposed to have unique animations so I suspect the rest will get some later on. It seems like we got a base game. It's functional and plays. If you have the patience to wait Frontier will most likely improve it with fixes, maybe some free updates and DLC you can buy. I enjoy the game the way it is. That doesn't mean it can't use some improvements. I just trust Frontier and I guess some don't or they are impatient. Then you have the people who just want to whine about it. I will enjoy what we do have and will enjoy it even more as the game is improved and we get new content.
