Is everyone* able to make their next jump if they land on a planetary detour?

*Everyone flying a ship with greater than 22LY jump range, I guess would be the accurate question.

I've set myself a destination around 200 jumps away. The plan was to investigate things on the way. Average jump distance between systems is 42LY. Every time I stop and disembark at a planet, the next jump is no longer available when leaving the surface.

I have to deselect the target system, and reselect it to then make the next jump. On the issue tracker, no one else has mentioned this, making me wonder if it's just my PC playing silly things. If it's not, can you please vote or comment here: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/35724 ?

It has made me appreciate the new bookmark system, but it adds at least a couple of minutes of faff to something that should (and was) automatic.

Cheers!

It's not just you - I noticed this last night - it's damn annoying - I haven't had time to raise a ticket yet though.

EDIT: Voted for yours.

Did you try hitting the "target next system on route" or so button?

I wonder if this was a 'fix' for trying to low wake into orbit from a planet surface whilst having the next system in route automatically selected. I found that really irritating in Horizons but then I really haven't done anything with targeting keybinds....

Added to the bug. I lose whatever the target is whenever the ship enters supercruise when launching from a planet. Though I haven't tested in today's release...

So far I didn't lose a single plotting target in Odyssey. My routes so far were all less than 10 jumps, but I made a lot of stops inbetween whenever there was a planet I wanted to take a look at.
However, like in Horizons, after selecting a planet when I wanted to resume my route I had to hit that button.

That's good to know - and the jumps are all over 20 LY? The shortcut key binding you mentioned will have to do as a stop gap - I'll look at the config in a bit. TBH, I'd just prefer the target system to be visible in the Locations tab as it is (was?) in Horizons. (Selecting a planet isn't really a problem as just deselecting it returns to the next waypoint.)

Ah, interesting, hadn't checked if the next system waypoint is still available before I left the planet and entered SuperCruise.

EDIT: Yep, it is - it's the matter of entering supercruise before jumping that seems to wipe it from the list.
