Is exploration rewarding

That is what I was/am afraid that all you find is useless planets and im also afraid that these galaxys are bare and you dont find space ports or anything to maybe refuel and resupply, and if this is the case why did they make the galaxy so large.. it be nice to have first contact with new civilizations, descover new life forms (wildlife) and I hope this is possible when planetary landings is possible for now I figured I'd build my money and save up for the sexy stuff before I head out into the dark abyss.

The galaxy is the size it should be in reality, it's the most accurate representation of the Milky way in a game.

For me exploration will not be rewarding until we get something else out there, just seeing planets and suns becomes a grind after a while, we need some wrecks and other interesting things to find, even the odd chance of this would make exploring much more interesting just hoping for that rare find.
