Is Frontier offended ?

Offended when there are doubts on the capacity of Frontier to release on December 16th, a complete game (as in the DDF), stable and reliable ? Frontier is a professional company. Are these doubts an insult ?

I don't believe some noise from the vulgar rabble in the peanut-gallery disturbs them at all.

They are focused on their goal, and have enough confidence to announce a firm release date, so it's full steam ahead!

Best of luck to them too!

Well, for starters they are not releasing on the 26th, but the 16th.

As for the subject, well FDEV are a pretty professional group, and they only have to show any naysayer what they can do via their actual work. Some people of course will never be content, mainly due to the fact that the game they are thinking of is not the game FDEV wants to make anyway.

What I'm pretty sure about is that FDEV will release the game when they deem it is ready for it, and then proceed to make it better and better for years to come.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Part of being professional is knowing what feedback to take to heart and what to politely ignore.

They should do what they feel they need to do.

for 99% of the players the game in its current form is a little buggy regarding missions vanishing and the odd disconnect, but nothing that a patch cant solve.
I think FD can release to the public on the 16th December, we will all get the final build on the 22nd Nov which still leaves FD plenty of time to apply updates in time for the public release.
....
....
so I have faith in FD.

What's to be offended by? People with genuine concerns? I have concerns, but they don't reflect on the integrity or ability of FD.

Apparently they can be thin skinned or at least the moderators can be, and since they are agents of the company, their actions reflect on the company.

I think they need to learn to turn the other cheek a bit more and retaliate a lot less.

Ignore what they dislike but allow free speech.

I agree with Jenner on the "politely ignore" comment.

FDEV seem a fairly professional bunch with a very prudent approach to all things they communicate publicly.

the ones that have been here a bit longer know what to expect, the great game in making we all have been following for the last 2 years =)

If I were in their shoes I'd take it as a challenge and a mission to prove the non believers wrong!

see what I did there.... :)

There is a big difference between randomly attacking any part of the game and screaming "nuts on the road" and honest concerns many people have.
Are those concerns directed directly at Frontier as a professional group? No. I'm pretty relaxed about it, they seem to know what they are doing +1

The concerns many people have are more a personal concern if at any.

Like others mentioned, they know what to take to hearth and what to ignore.

I hope not, most of the really bad threads and posts I've seen have been from... newer members. Not that new members opinions aren't as valid as older people, but still, the number of new members coming in to post how rubbish the game is. Well I take it with a pinch of salt.

We all have issues, problems, concerns and bugs. But most of us are confident it can be dealt with. I think FD will have noticed the same thing.

I think this voyage is set off early, but it is not too late to hope the weather treats her fairly. What else is there to debate. Now to embrace the winds of fate.

Re the OP.

I think they are big enough to look after themselves, take on board positive criticism and listen to feedback and engage well with the community. It is all cool I would say.

If you're aiming to create the best product possible, you are more interested in factual criticism than boot lickers; because the latter won't help you improve your product whereas the former do.

Hence, I believe FDEV appreciates critical feedback.

I don't really understand what everyone is getting so worked up about. Think about it, when was the last time a game was released 100% finished and bug free? We'll get a game on that date and it will be improved upon and fixed going forwards from there. Surely people realise this is how the gaming industry works now??!!

Frontier sure is a very capable studio that pushed the limits of what we thought a studio could do in many areas, but it faces no ordinary challenge either. You might think they're gods, and they better be, because we need a miracle right now.

And just like gods, they remain silent. We don't know what they're really doing, they could simply tell us "Yes, all the things planned have long been completed and will be available at release, and your beta version is way behind our in-house build" to solve things, but they won't do it for some mysterious reason only known to them. This has people worry even more, and you can't really blame them.

well i played admitedly in solo tonight for about 4 hours and have to say the missions and trading are much better in this version than the last so more power to their elbows i say!

keep up the good work F.D. im never ceasing to be impressed and surprised by how well it's comming together and im sure you will get the mp smooth in time so i can wait for that. (even though im gagging to play some co-op with many of the Commanders i have met here in the forums)
