I've known people who do this, its usually to troll and for their own sick amusement. Don't bite.
That said, there are lots of pleasant people in games too - sort of like reality, but meeting one ******* can really have a bad effect on an otherwise good day.
The true solution perhaps might rest in exterminating vast pockets of the population
