Newcomer / Intro Is is possible to transfer limpets to a fleet carrier cargo ?

Hi CMDRs,

Yesterday I had an issue :

I used my mining ship to do mining, so with a number of limpets. As the mining session was over, I still had 20 limpets remaining on board.

Back to my Fleet Carrier, I could not switch to my dedicated explorer ship as there is no cargo space on this second ship.
I could not find any way to transfer those remaining limpets from the mining ship to the FC cargo hold.

Did I miss a point or should I waste those 20 limpets by just dropping them to be able to switch to another ship not having cargo space available ?

You have three choices: You can either transfer the limpets to your DC cargo along with the mined stuff (transfer all to fleet carrier), which is the easiest option; or you can sell the limpets back in the same way you buy them.

When you're making multiple mining trips, you can always transfer any limpets back to your ship when you're transferring the cargo, then go to the limpet purchase to top up with whatever quantity you need for the next trip. I do a lot of mining and other stuff. personally, i find it useful to have some limpets in the fleet carrier cargo as long as I have space for them.. It's just about speed and convenience.

There's also a third option. Considering the very low cost of limpets compared with the value of the stuff you mine and the profits you get from it, just dump the limpets either before you leave the mining area or at the fleet carrier or anywhere else you want. Whenever I'm mining platinum, i never know how many limpets I need, so I have to take more than enough for the trip, so when my ship is nearly full, I start dumping limpets so that I can get a 100% full(of platinum) cargo hold and refinery each time I return.

As Limpets sell back for the price you paid I have never seen the point of adding their mass to the Fleet Carriers cargo or using the space. I am surprised that doing so makes enough of a speed difference to matter.

Yep. Agreed. I really was not aware of the fact we could resell them (always only bought them so far...) that is the good option, especially as I have FC onboard rearmament services available.
Discovering FC capabilities and best practices are somewhat not that close of my previous way to play (that was probably not totally optimized, it seems...)
