Is it a bug that the FSS scanner takes so long to scan planets with findables?

If I scan a planet with nothing on the surface it shows as such immediately.

If it takes more than a second to come up with “none” it can take about 30-40 seconds to show Geological / Human / Biological etc.

This is a ridiculously long amount of time and adds a huge amount of thumb twiddling time while I scan a whole system. I cannot believe this is intentional - I really hope not as if it is it’s intentional grind for grinds sake.

Is this a bug I should log a ticket on or does anybody know for sure? How long does it take for you?

I don't wait for that. As soon as the planet's image resolves, I'm on to the next one. I believe that if you just click out then back in, you'll find the sites list has resolved.

It only affects bodies with geological POIs and is linked to frame rate. If you're on PC you can remove the frame rate cap in graphics settings as a workaround.

And yes, raise a bug report or preferably add to an existing one if you can find one, every little helps.

Bad programming they haven't bothered to fix, if you're lucky it'll be part of the coming small fixes & updates promised for the next two years.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Microtransactions are no longer working for Frontier, so they found a new way to monetize the game.

Bitcoin.

That's right, while that circle spins and spins and spins, Frontier is harnessing your $10,000 gaming PC (and my humble console) to mine Bitcoin! [money]

That bothers me too... I'm not sure but as far as I remember the time was shorter during the beta. They probably broke it while fixing something else... :D

I have to say, in DW2 I have now had to take the decision to not scan systems of 20 bodies or more. Largely due to this. Otherwise I am just not going to keep up. Which is a shame, as so far I have scanned every system I visited.

And you just know that means I will skip some clue to Raxxla or some other noteworthy find.
