No, there's been a serious of minor releases, basically bug fixes. They're being reported in the Patch Notes sub-forum, usually with a bit of notice when the servers are going down. The difference with 1.1 seems to be that the game launcher isn't listing these, so unless you're looking at the forums there's no indication that you're going to have to upgrade.
Yeah it happens to me too. Everytime I open the launhcer I get upgrade instead of play and have to download content.
