Is it planned to be able to go inside our ships and actually walk around inside of them needing to enter/exit them Physically?

Investigates through the ship, honking the hand held version of the discovery scanner. Suddenly, something appears on the radar. "Truly my greatest discovery. I finally found where the socks go when they escape out of the washing machine."To be fair I think this is the first time it has been suggested that it would count towards exploration to wander aimlessly about the labyrinths inside our own ships.
Usually it is combat.

What are these interiors of which you speak? Is it planned to be able to go inside our ships and actually walk around inside of them needing to enter/exit them Physically?

For sure, one of the knock on effects of having ship interiors would be to have salvaging missions based on exploring wrecks or ghost ships. There's quite a bit that could be worked into them actually. It could be a good first step to introduce/test interiors as they could be parked in space without the need to worry about coordinate relationship mismatches that could cause issues.I actually like exploring new ships, and certainly would if it was a thing in ED.
Although, I don’t think ED is well set up to make interest dynamic gameplay from them, and if you listen to the amount of griping in Star Citizen about taking too long to get to the cockpit in various ships it’s clear the shine is lost quite quickly when interiors are available.
It’d be a lot of work for a small team to make the interiors, and make the gameplay to justify them, with limited evidence that it would actually be popular…
They could always sell them for ARX![]()
If it was just that, and no more, I would agree. Why is this such a desired feature? I can go for a walk anywhere in an entire galaxy. Why would I want to walk from my cockpit to the exit and back again?
You still need three samples.Exobiology would be interesting. Scan the ship toilet and get first discovery on... whatever it is you just laid.
It is desired, in part, because we can’t do it at the moment but there are doors and hatches and hints that there might be stuff there to see.Why is this such a desired feature? I can go for a walk anywhere in an entire galaxy. Why would I want to walk from my cockpit to the exit and back again?
The issue isn’t if the samples need different originators, it is can you fit 3 toilets in the ship far enough apart for the range component of the diversity check routine. You still need three samples.
Works better if you can bring two friends as crew members, so that you can get all three samples in one session.

Yeah, but that's easy in SC.The issue isn’t if the samples need different originators, it is can you fit 3 toilets in the ship far enough apart for the range component of the diversity check routine.
I recall a website you could upload pics of that nature and people would rate it. It would be a nice addition to the Galnet news.. Could have a best in show feature.Exobiology would be interesting. Scan the ship toilet and get first discovery on... whatever it is you just laid.
I disagree that there's alot of griping about too long to get to the cockpit. Alot of ships in SC are small ships that are easy to enter the cockpit. The problem is that in SC currently the bigger ships are soloable, like the C2 or M2, constellation class, etc and yes they take a whiles to get to the flight deck. But SC plan to make these ships multicrew only so as to be more realistic.
The problem with that, as ive said many times before is most gamers prefer solo gameplay, or at least its the easier option.
SC is better in this regard as it has universal chat so finding a crew for ships is easier.
If only SC was VR!
And bug free, not a scam, not so toxic, and had a solo play (ie not open only) it would be the game of choice.
It'd also need it's own galaxy, instead of just 1 or more systems.
Stanton, pyro etc isn't enuff.
