Is it possible for station ownership to change?

Lately I have been running a lot of missions and they have been giving +0 influence to the party I have been doing them for, but they do not own a station so I think the party that owns the station is also getting credit for the mission. Is it possible to somehow give the party I am running missions for their own station, or flip ownership somehow?

Normally you should get reputation for the faction that gives you the mission, regardless who owns the station.
