I've got a question along the way:

I bought the game some time before, and now its out there in Steam.

So I have one License of the game, which results in one Client, and, in other words, one Character / Pilot.

If I buy a second License of the game, is it possible for me to create a second Character / Pilot,

so it's possible for me to log into the game with the old, or the new one?

I'm aware of it that i can't log in with both accounts simultanously...

Aye it works fine.

You need to create a new account in the ED store, login there and just make the purchase. Job done.

You then just enter the login you want to use in the launcher.

Edit: just to clarify, it's one CMDR per account, you login under a different account for the secondary CMDR.

Thats not an answer to my post and question. So please a more qualified explanation, please.

Is it legal due to the license, and technical possible, to have more than one gaming License of the gaame,

so that its possible to have a second Pilot?

Probably, although I've installed in separate folders, and are using different local Windows accounts (ED uses LocalApp's folder) for both

I'm aware of it that i can't log in with both accounts simultanously...

I'm flying both Cmdr's simultaneously on the same PC.

So now I get a little bit confused.

I bought my first Elite Licence via the normal way, before Elite was released on Steam.
I intend to buy my second License now via Steam (due to the dicount this weekend).
I've got Windows 8.1, and installed my first game now in the normal way.

How should i setup now my second game now, bought via steam?

just make sure you get the second account via a different email address and you'll be fine, when switching accounts you will have to put in the code you get emailed by FD but that's a minor inconvenience.

as for set-up that's a little more tricky as to have access to the second account you will need to download the whole game again via the launcher, I've no idea why FD did it like this and can't use the same install for more than one account but they must have their reasons.

I did it last week. 2nd account with a new email account.
Make a copy of you install folder
Make a new launcher shortcut that uses the copy folder
Start your 2nd account from this launcher and activate it.

You can only have 1 launcher running at once, so close it after the main game has loaded
Use each shortcut exclusively for each account and you won't have to reactivate them ever

Keep in mind that you'll need to buy every season upgrade for every account, or you'll end up with one horribly outdated account.

2nd Account registered via new mailadress, everything works fine.
And I'm aware of it that I maybe have to buy two expansions, one for each account, if they are released

My 2nd account is for storage of cargo so I can change ships on my main account. I may eventually use it as a gun bunny or spoiler pirate, but in any case, it will never need expansions. We have been promised repeatedly that core game will continue and improve.
