Is it possible to make water reservoirs that are not lakes?

Hello, I don't always want a lake in my habitat, or use water bowls. I tried to make a pool from building pieces but it doesn't work. I tried it with barriers but it doesn't work either. Can we please make this possible? Especially the building pieces?
Or do I do something wrongly? I know barrier can hold water but it seems it cannot work as a wall for pools.

Using the terrain stamp is probably your best bet. Also it usually does work with concrete and glass barriers, so the obstruction in the second picture is likely due to something else.

Some barriers are indeed watertight like NZFanatic pointed out, my guess is the obstruction is path related for the second one. The first one could be due to the angle or basically the lower end of the barrier could be too low for the water level.

I thought exactly the same.
I think lowering the terrain a bit might help.

I’ve been using the building pieces and did one for my flamingo exhibit. I don’t use the regular walls tho. I believe in the plaster set there are four pieces that look like walls those are much easier to use. The results are amazing but I haven’t mastered this yet as the tutorials always make it look easy. It’s tedious but worth it in the end.

I didn't get an excellent screenshot of the whole thing (at the time I was focused on the adorable baby elephant), but I used the square terrain stamp tool to dig down a perfect square, and 'lined it' with the indian decorative pieces to make a swimmable fountain type thing for my elephants. The construction pieces themselves don't hold water, so you have to dig down into the terrain to add water. Kept having to make it bigger as they need a lot of swimming space apparently, and it was a LOT of trial and error to allow them to get in and out of it, but it ended up looking really nice in my opinion!

Let us know how your tinkering worked!
